Introduction
Greetings, everyone. This is a guide to Nosferatu: The wrath of Malachi. In this guide you will find all the information about the game objective, weapons and enemies.

Version 1.02
Objective and Lore
The game takes us to the 26th of October, 1912. You, James Patterson are a son of pour, but proud aristocratic family from England. Your father, in order to prevent your family from going bankrupt, agreed to marry your elder sister Rebecca to the wealthy Romanian count. The wedding was going to take place in the count’s castle in Transylvania. You arrived one day later, than the others and, instead of a warm welcome, you’d seen your family trunks scattered unopened around the gates.

Now, your objective is to go into the castle and rescue all of your family members and closest friends. The castle itself is divided into 4 parts: the Courtyard, the East Wing, the West Wing and the Main Castle. There is 1 relative in the Courtyard, 5 in the East Wing, 7 in the West Wing and 3 in the Main Castle. In order to rescue the hostages, you first need to find them and then escort them to the Sanctuary (the door to it is incrusted with multiple wooden crucifixes, this is the door, which is right behind you, when you start the game). Once you guide a relative to the Sanctuary, he/she will open his/her trunk, which will contain a useful item.

However, there are 3 catches.

First, each one of the relatives has scheduled death time. That means, if you will not be quick enough, the game will just kill the relative, because you’ve been too slow. If this happens, a cinematic will be played and the text in it will notify you, which relative just died.

Second, even, if you find someone in the castle, you need the hostage to be guided to the Sanctuary ALIVE. That means that you have to protect the relatives from enemies, as you walk back to the Courtyard. Enemies will mostly focus you, however, some of them prefer to attack the unarmed.

Third, the maximum amount of the relatives, that can die, is 6. That means the seventh dies – the game ends by default. So, you have to be both quick and careful, if you want the game to end (relatively) happily.
Relatives
With that out of the way, let me introduce you to your closest.

Father Aville, your family priest.
Location: When you approach the East Wing, he will fall down from the window and land in the Courtyard near the bridge to the East Wing.
Death Time: 30 minutes after meeting him.
Reward: Crucifix (when you meet him), Ancient Chalice (when you save him)
Commentary: Father Aville will be the first relative you see. He will tell you, that the Count is a vampire and that you need to save your family. Also, he will ask you to bring the doctor to him, or else he will succumb to his wounds. It is in your major interests to rescue him, for the Chalice is the most powerful weapon in the game, and it 1-2 kills the bosses.

Dr. Amersfield, your family doctor.
Location: East Wing, randomized.
Death Time: TBA
Reward: Saving Father Aville (if he’s still alive), unlimited healing.
Commentary: When you find the doctor, forget everything else, and rush to the exit, especially, if father Aville is still alive. You will not only rescue 2 people, but also get 2 great rewards. Once you save Amersfield, he will heal you back to 100 HP every time you ask him (approach him and press the “Action” key).

Emelie Kingstone, your paternal aunt.
Location: East Wing, randomized.
Death Time: TBA
Reward: Revolver.
Commentary: You can meet her either very early in the East Wing or very late. Regardless, saving her gives a good firearm. If you fail to find her or guide her back, she shares the trunk with her husband, so you will still be able to get the Revolver.

Andrew Kingstone, aunt Emelie’s husband.
Location: East Wing, randomized.
Death Time: TBA
Reward: Revolver.
Commentary: Basically, he is no different, than Emelie. Conditions on meeting him are the same, saving him gives the same reward. Just remember about the death limit of 6 that I mentioned before.

Sophie, your maternal aunt.
Location: East Wing, inside of the east tower.
Death Time: 30 minutes after opening the entrance to the East Wing
Reward: Buster’s cage key.
Commentary: Saving Sophie is kinda tricky. First, the key to the tower is located in one of the rooms of the Garrison. Second, you need to arrive to the tower in time. Third, 3 count musketmen will try to stop you, but, well, they are not a big problem. Fourth, you need to climb on top of the tower, fight a boss and grab its key (more about it in the “bosses” section). After all that, activate the crane with the obtained key (that will lower Sophie down). All that’s left guide Sophie out of the East Wing and she’ll give you the reward.

Gregory Bidwell, your best friend.
Location: East Wing, the top of the Garrison.
Death time: TBA
Reward: 50 Revolver bullets and Stamina potion.
Commentary: Getting Greg out of the castle will not go easy either. First you need to get the Garrison key and get on top of it (there will be an elevator at the very end). When you get to the roof, a cinematic will be shown, and you will see Gregory in chains. He is guarded by the second boss (more about it in the “bosses” section). Defeat it and free Greg. Now, he’s an aggressive one, he will charge and fight the enemies with his bare fists, and his attacks are quite powerful. I’d still recommend guiding him to the Sanctuary, you can refill your health with medkits, and he cannot.

Melissa Ethelridge, your family medium.
Location: West Wing, randomized.
Death time: 18 minutes after opening the entrance to the West Wing
Reward: Regeneration potion.
Commentary: Melissa is the hardest relative to save, for her death time is short. She might as well be in the very last part of the West Wing you can explore, but you still only have 18 minutes after you enter the West Wing. Her reward isn’t even good, for the potion only lasts for 6 minutes and regenerates 1 HP per second.

Mrs. Patterson, your mother.
Location: West Wing, one of the rooms on the first level.
Death time: TBA
Reward: Garlic.
Commentary: she’s easy to safe, but the reward isn’t good. Just keep her safe from monsters and you will get together to the Sanctuary without any problems.

Wilfred Patterson, your brother.
Location: West Wing, fifth level, giant portal room.
Death time: TBA
Reward: Skeleton key, speed potion.
Commentary: In order to get to the fifth level, you need to get the key, which is guarded by the third boss. And the brother himself is guarded by the fourth boss (more about it in the “bosses” section). The other problem is the giant portal, which endlessly spawns enemies, but if you have enough firearm power, you will be alright. Your brother is pretty much like Greg and he will attack enemies once you meet him. But, again, I recommend bringing him to the Sanctuary. The speed potion is better to be saved for the final boss. The Skeleton Key can unlock some of the family trunks, but not all of them.

Frank Benjamin Patterson, your paternal grandfather.
Location: West Wing, randomized.
Death Time: TBA
Reward: Machine Gun.
Commentary: When you meet him, I say, bring him to safety ASAP. The Machine Gun is a weapon, which will make a bloody mess out of the even toughest enemy opponents.

Angelica Patterson, your younger sister.
Location: West Wing, randomized.
Death Time: TBA
Reward: Garlic.
Commentary: Other than being attractively drawn, she doesn’t shine with anything else special. Her bushel of Garlic is separate from the one in Mrs. Patterson’s trunk, though.

Mortimer Patterson, your paternal uncle.
Location: West Wing, second level, room with a key to the fourth level.
Death Time: TBA
Reward: Protective vest.
Commentary: Another easy one. The vest, that he gives, reduces incoming damage by 30%. Just don’t forget to grab the key.

Manfred, father Aville’s acolyte.
Location: West Wing, third level.
Death Time: 80 minutes after opening the entrance to the West Wing
Reward: Ancient Chalice.
Commentary: If you failed to save father Aville, Manfred is your second chance to obtain the Chalice before fighting the third and fourth bosses, since the third level is not locked.

Lord Belmore, your family lawyer.
Location: Main Castle, randomized.
Death Time: 20 minutes after opening the entrance to the Main Castle
Reward: Master key.
Commentary: Lord Belmore is your very last chance to obtain items from the family trunks, if you failed to save some of your relatives. His Master key unlocks ANY of the trunks.

Mr. Patterson, your father.
Location: Main Castle, randomized.
Death Time: 25 minutes after opening the entrance to the Main Castle
Reward: Garlic.
Commentary: By the time you reach the Main Castle, you should be well armed to get him out of the castle without much trouble. He shares his trunk with Mrs. Patterson, but I doubt that you failed to safe her.

Rebecca Patterson, your elder sister.
Location: Main Castle, cathedral.
Death Time: When you enter the cathedral.
Reward: N/A
Commentary: Alas, your elder sister is but a plot device in this entire story. Without the sacrifice, there would not be a final boss battle.

Buster, your family dog.
Location: Door to the right to the door to the East Wing, inside of the cage.
Death Time: N/A
Reward: Loyalty until death.
Commentary: Buster will be guarded by 3 Count’s henchmen, 2 with scythes and 1 with a flintlock pistol. They should not be much of an issue. The cage can be opened by aunt Sophie’s key, and after that, Buster will follow you and protect you with his life. He’s not a scheduled sacrifice, but he can be killed in battle. If you don’t want him to die, just leave him in the Courtyard, and he’ll occupy the doghouse there.
Weapons
There are nine types of weapons in the game. Here I’ll commentate on them in the order, by which they go in the game.

1) Silver Cane Sword

Your sword is your own special item. It is in your trunk, which is in the Courtyard.
Open it and take your trusty comrade-in-arms. The sword allows you to keep enemies at its tip, but the more you swing it, the slower you will move. Stand in place doing nothing until your stamina bar recovers. The Sword also has a secondary attack, but it’s not that useful.

2) Crucifix

Father Aville will give it to you, when you first meet him. There are 3 uses for Crucifix. One, you can repel some monsters from you, if you hold it with the left mouse button. Second, it can kill ghosts in 1 hit. Third, you can sanctify the water with it to fill your Chalice.

3) Revolver

Kingstones’ reward. The revolver has 5 bullets in its cylinder, deals moderate damage and is very accurate. You can carry up to 200 maximum ammo. Be resourceful and don’t waste bullets on reload. It also has a secondary attack, in which you perform the melee attack.

4) Flintlock pistol

This gun can be obtained from Count’s henchmen, which will try to shoot you with it. It is powerful, but takes a long time to reload. You can switch between all the pistols you have by pressing 4 again and again.

5) Musket

There are only 4 in the game, all of them are in the East Wing, and the Count’s Musketmen are located in the boss areas. Be sure to get all 4, the Musket is stronger, than the Pistol, but it takes slightly longer to reload.

6) Ancient Chalice

Father Aville and Manfred’s reward. The holy water 1-hit kills almost every enemy in the game, the drawback is, you can store only 5 units of water in the Chalice, after that it has to be refilled. Find any stone water tub and sanctify the water with the Crucifix.

7) Fists

Any gentleman should always pack quite a punch. Your fists are the best 1-on-1 weapon in the game, because you can stun lock any enemy.

8) Wooden Stake

Classic vampire hunter weapon. Find a coffin, drive the stake through a heart, done. The number of stakes is limited, but I assure you will not run out of them. You need at least 3 stakes to progress through the game, the others can be used for killing regular monsters. Or you can also use the second fire near torches and set the stake on fire, making it a torch and increasing your sight radius in the dark.

9) Machine gun

Grandfather Frank’s reward. This WWI Gatling-gun is a tool of massacre with only 1 con – it chews through the ammo unbelievably fast. Other than that, take it and reduce the unholy to a fine paste.
Enemies
The enemies in the game may be somewhat cliché, but they add up to the total atmosphere in the game.

Keep in mind that I don’t know the actual names of the enemies, but I will add the description, if needed.

Rabid Dog.

Those pests will focus your relatives, if you happen to escort any, but they are weak. 2-3 swings of the sword will kill it.

Henchman with a Scythe.

Those brainwashed peasants will try to reap you with their weapon, their attack is powerful, but the speed is slow. So, with a firearm, they are not troubling.

Henchman with a Flintlock Pistol.

This type of brainwashed has a straw hat and a pistol and a itchy trigger finger. They aim for a long time and miss very often, in other words, they are not threatening. Plus, you can pick their weapon, when they die.

Henchman with a Musket.

Fine leather vest and a musket, this type can only be met in the east tower and the top of the garrison. They aim even longer, than the flintlock ones, but they are more accurate.

Desmodiij.

“Half-man, half-bat, 100% monster.” Those ugly creatures can be found in any area of the castle, except for the Courtyard. 1 by 1 they are easy to take down, however there are portals in some rooms of the castle, which will spawn these monsters until the portal is destroyed (shoot the portal, or attack it with the sword).

Ghoul.

Muscled and hairless, it is tankier, than Desmodiij, but its attacks are weaker. It usually will surprise you with a sneak attack by breaking the floor or a window.

Zombie.

This type usually crawls up from the earth. Has a green skin and dark-green clothes. Weaker than Desmodiij. Not a threat.

Skeleton.

Those walking bones are lying in some areas of the castle peacefully, until it suddenly decides to attack and stands up. By stats they are same as Desmodiij, except for speed, which is slower.

Ghost.

Those dark spirits cannot be taken down by physical weapons, however, 1 hit with a Crucifix will take them down.

Male/Female vampires.

If you see a coffin opening, it will contain one of them. Just drive a wooden stake through its heart and its dead. If you don’t do that, you will have to fight it. They have high HP, can be killed by 4-5 hits by Crucifix, but any kind of weapon works.

Feral corpse.

These acrobats wear a black suit and are quick with their attacks and dodging. While fighting it, you will see it dropping down, but don’t be fooled. It makes a distinguish sound, when it’s really done for.

Giant bat.

Those overgrown flying mammals are tough. Be sure to reload all of your firearms every time you clear a room, because taking it out in melee combat is not an easy task.

Gargoyle.

The toughest regular enemy in the game. Decent attack, a big amount of HP, moderately quick movement and attack. Holy water and Machine Gun makes them easy, however, if you don’t have it, you can kill it with 2 Musket shots.
Bosses
Boss enemies are tough battles. Be sure to come prepared! I recommend saving the Wooden Stakes and Holy Water for them.

Desmodaui:

Desmodaui guards aunt Sophie on top of the east tower. He’s an easy boss, considering, that means to kill him are located on that very top of the tower. Splash him with holy water or stab him with stakes, and he’ll disperse into bats. The battle isn’t won yet! Go down the stairs, open the coffin and finish the job with a quick wooden stake drive. Take his key and free aunt Sophie.

Moraie:

Moraie guards Gregory at the top of the garrison. She has somewhat the same HP as Desmodaui, and the killing strategy is the same. After she disappears, open the chest, take the sacred scroll and free Greg. After guiding Greg to the Sanctuary, return to the garrison, move the sealed rock with the scroll and head down to the crypt. Open the coffin and finish her off. Take the key to the West Wing.

Foul Beast:

Foul Beast guards the key to the fifth level of the West Wing. This hulking mass of meat has huge HP, its attacks are very strong, but it’s slow. Besides, you can hide in the tunnel, where it can’t fit and shoot it with the pistol or musket. Holy water, stakes and crucifix also work. You can even kill it with the sword, it will take a lot of time, though.

Draija:

Draija guards Wilfred in the giant portal room at the fifth floor of the West Wing.
She’s tougher and quicker, than her 2 previous companions + the portal will spawn Desmodiij non-stop. You can either destroy the portal and Desmodiijs first, or lure Draija out of the room and deal with her 1 vs 1. Stakes and Holy water are, again, your best choices, however, Crucifix also works. Draija’s coffin is located at the fourth level. To get there, you need to pick a second level key from the portal room. On the second level there is a room with a key to the fourth level. On the fourth level, find a large room with a coffin, finish Draija and take the Main Castle key.

Count Orlok:

The Count is immune to all of your weapons, but, if you paid attention to the books around the castle, you might have read, that he can only be killed by the most known enemy of vampires – sunlight. Our objective here is to activate 3 levers. In the order: first one is on the column, that is the nearest to the entrance, second one is on the column, that is the nearest to the altar, third one is one the most western column. After activation, lure the Count into the center of the room and he will meet his death.

Lord Malachi:

The HP and power of Lord Malachi increases with each slain relative. Worst case scenario, you failed to save 6 + Rebecca. In this situation he will be very hard to deal with. Still, if you saved Father Aville, Manfred or Lord Belmore, Holy Water will make him a total push-over. If not, you have to rely on Machine Gun, Muskets and Pistols to shoot his glowing orange crystal heart. His attacks are not hard to dodge, the problem is, that Malachi himself is quite fast. Every time you see a blue explosion that means a successful hit. Another tip, that I can give you, is that to save all 3 potions until this very fight, and use the portal in the basement of the Main Castle to get to the cathedral quickly.
Secrets
Developers also put some pretty interesting secrets in the game. If someone knows anything else, be free to post in the comments.

1) Second Revolver.

In the second room of the East Wing (the one with multiple doors), if you climb onto the wooden construction, you will find a second revolver and some ammo to it.

2) Second Chalice.

In the Cathedral, after the battle with the Count is over, climb onto the altar and jump to the column. If done right, you’ll hear a sound, and a Chalice will appear above the altar. It will be filled with Holy Water, enough to kill Malachi.

3) All keys cheat.

In the Courtyard, open your trunk, step back, run, and jump as soon, as you step of the trunk, aiming to the blood pool in the center. If done right, you will jump quite high and the game will tell you, that you are a cheater, but now you have all the keys in the game. That means that you can open any door and any trunk.

4) Shooting bats.

You can shoot bats in the Courtyard, top of the East Tower and the top of the Garrison. The game will comment, if you hit the bat, but I have no idea, what purpose it serves.
Work to do
The guide will be updated.

I still need to add the death time for most of the relatives.

Write more thoughtfull battle strategies.

Maybe add images...

Last advice: Use F5-F6 (quick-save, quick-load)

Good luck!

No

Since Rebecca dies no matter what, does she count in the family death toll that leads to a game over?
MrLisreal  [author] 20 Jun @ 10:41am
Well, in-game time ticks the same as the real one, so.... Real time (unless paused, of course)

As for the random stuff - some corridor connections and pick ups. Relatives, whose position isn't static, chage it after every reload of the save (this can and SHOULD be abused)

Is the time in this guide in-game minutes or real life time? Like is 30 mins to save Sophie 30 in real life time? Also, are the locations randomized or is that just the items and who's in them?

The moment you lose the 7th family member, you automatically lose

Can you beat the game if anyone dies? or do you have to save absolutely everyone
phillipconner101 7 May @ 12:28pm
We need godmode, all weapons, and noclip, cheats too
Hoshungen 17 Jan @ 5:20pm
I'm not sure about that but, found relatives gets killed automatically in some time even if they stay in the castle courtyard. However, I'm able to give both NPC's an entire castle tour
On the East Wing's left room, if you get near to window with the chest you'll see Count Orlok passing through the window
Other thing is, when you quick-load the game NPC's won't follow you and have to get near to them again. Just be sure they're near to you. Sometimes they do the same thing without this and makes me think that they need some comforting ig
Additionally be careful on the West Wing or else you cannot have time to save Melissa while 3 NPCs following you at the same time while stop following you, bumping into themselves and bodyblocking you. Yes, I found all of them on the same floor except Melissa lol I'm unbelievably both lucky and unlucky

also its worth noteing that if you are not sure going into a zone or if its to dangerous just do a simple quick save and you're good to go

hey you have in this guide everything u need to know in general after you save Father Avile you get the chalice that can one shot everything the only downside is that after midnight half an hour after Nosferatu will kill them one by one so take for example if all of the relatives are gone its kinda hard because u dont have the armor or machinegun to finish him off and also he gains more hp and more durable / dead relatives i havent tested it out but haveing no armor in the castel you will have a hard time also fighting off the gargoyles and also the portals that spawn demons are also eaqualy annoying to get passed but if u have time to figure and save each relative u can beat nightmare easy same as i did have a nice day :brownchicken:
