what do you mean by party gets half pay for the manor, does that mean you pay the party half as much as normal?

Oh and perhaps I should ask this as well. Do certain quests help the village more than others?

My apologies if this has been covered in the prosperity tab, but I have a quick question about village quests. If you quest for a village and succeed, does it become more prosporous?

Thank you. This guide has been very helpful.

@Dr.Zoidberg - Overcome your foes, heal the rifts between your allies, or wait for everyone to stop talking about you. I prefer the first, as the second is boring, and the third takes too long. Just find an area overrun with low level bandits, and crush them.

Thanks. Also how do you get rid of controversy?

@Warlock - Fiefs automatically pay taxes - you can see this in your monthly ledger. If a fief has stopped paying taxes, there's something wrong. Likely it is under siege or infested with bandits... or the fief really hates you, but that doesn't seem the case here.

@rasmuskvt - I believe it is just a flat five percent boost - of course, this naturally has the effect that the village grows faster than one without a mill, so I'm not sure how you would tell the difference. Unless you mean to ask whether it is a one time boost, or a permanent effect? In that case I can say it is a permanent effect.

@DrZoidberg - You can speak to your sovereign, and ask permission to exchange your fief with another - the exchange will occur once you have the agreement of the desired fief's current lord. Alternatively, you can request your sovereign to release you from your vows - you will no longer be his vassal, but at this point you can choose to honourably return your fiefs to royal domain. Otherwise you will have to hope that one of your realm's enemies takes the fief from you by force of arms.

How do you release a fief from your ownership?
