Weapons curently look realy alike, except they're different in colors...
I only build the largest ship available, and perhaps 1 small defender per planet. The real key is the broken defence, it don't matter what weapon you have if your opponent does ZERO damage.
Multiple thrusters STACK, and add to that racial evasion and/or jammers you can achieve greater then 100% miss chance (I sense imminent nerf). With defence like this, all the armor/shield/chaff are completely unnecessary to research or put on a ship.
Medium ships don't have enough room to crest 100% miss chance, but with any tactical rapair the total damage can be completely negated by end of combat.
Multiplayer ships won't simply have one singular defense and will be counterbuilt against you so understanding the role and tactics of each weapon becoems ever more important.
