Hello~

So I know I've kept this channel in a drought for a solid 2 weeks now. If you want the truth, I sort of just felt really bogged down by a combination of school (I'm taking summer classes, you see...) and the NEED to upload rather than the pure desire to upload. By taking a break, I've let my passion for Touhou return, rather than let it stay a chore to upload like it started feeling like. So that's that.

Now let's talk about this arrange! I sort of cheated on this one, as usual, drawing heavily from a sheet music by someone named Daniel Lawrence http://www.vgmusic.com/file/b49507ec2c636b555ccca8d11058c324.html#disqus_thread Unfortunately other than this thread I really have no other referral to him, but his work was a great base for this MIDI! I used about only 7 tracks from his stuff out of the 16 though. The rest I made myself, which I will explain.

Once again, the drums and base (and the general beat in general) were more or less formulated by me, since ZUN's original had a very "jumpy" rhythm to it compared to this, which is one again very much "the heat of battle" type that I like. I was VERY proud to be able to emulate the ZUN-bass sort of thing and rhythm you hear at 0:22. After that the alternating notes taken from chords in Daniel's MIDI was easy, and 0:36's bass it just 0:22 done repeatedly. The rest is self-explanatory. I also tried adding a wavering sound to my tracks where appropriate (called "Vibrato") by apparently only adding a different "wave" to the notes I need to change. I also added the piano notes (the piano being from from Windows) and had the main melody be made up on IN and MoF trumpets. I really like the result. All in total, there were 16 tracks used in this MIDI. If you might notice, I used three sounds for chords in addition. One was ZUN's Dulcimer instrument (the one that sounds like a traditional Japanese instrument) alongside a PC-98 high-pitched synth and, get this, the horns from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I'd say I would consider this piece to be UNMASTERED rather than remastered, and that's because it draws from PC-98 instruments, Windows Touhou instruments, but also Zelda instruments ;) "Unmastered" also reflects on my need to make my MIDIs even better! At some point when making this I said "hey, you know this doesn't sound good with IN or MoF instruments" (it sounded horrid) so I tried changing it to mostly PC-98 instruments. But then I was like "this is...counterproductive...EFF IT" and then I added Zelda instruments. I'd say it's...not a bad result. But I dunno, maybe it's because I made it. Maybe you guys will think it's bad

All in all, the point of this project was to make something more CRISP and true sounding. The last one had recording problems too, of course, but its instruments also blended with each other too much. So here I tried to make it crisp. I even took the time to pick which notes to put into staccato one-by-one so that it might sound better. ALSO, if you notice I can KINDA hardsub now! That's my only font on this free program, however, but I'm REALLY REALLY happy that I can at least do what I did now! The same goes for the music :)

Even if you didn't read any of the above, I at least hope you know that I hope you enjoy this! I love Touhou, and would never leave it persay, but I just needed a break. It's like a hobby. You can't let the hobby become a chore, ever! So yeah. Again, hope you folks enjoy. Love you all!
