Foreword
First off this is a guide more for myself as, since the recent release of Infernal Relics, I have noticed I am having trouble remembering all the good card combinations since so many new possibilities have been created. The point of this guide is to record all the power gaming tactics and synergies that I have found in SOTM to run a steam roller over that dastardly villain. With these tactics I hope to make the hardest enemies cake walks.

More is to come if I find it. Also if anyone does actually read this and has some good combos let me know. I will try them out and record them.

Synergize the Heros
1) Absolute Zero, Visionary; Good against a constantly attacking non-character card
  1. Absolute Zero Cards in play:
    • Null-Point Calibration Unit
    • Isothermic Transducer
    • Additional: Impale, Focused Apertures, Cold Snap, Cryo Chamber (more healing less attack)

  2. Visionary Cards in play:
    • Twist The Ether
    • Additional: Wrest the Mind

  3. Strategy: Use Visionaries Twist the Ether card on the enemy non-character card (The Chairman's The Operative). Change all the incoming damage to either ice (to heal) or fire (to damage) and increase by 1. Make sure Absolute Zero is always pulling agro by having the correct amount of health or using Wrest the Mind to redirect it at him. This Strategy will make Absolute Zero an un-killable tank or damage machine. If done properly, against the right enemy, this strategy can result in a loop that can heal Absoult Zero to full health.

2) Ra, Legacy (or America's Greatest Legacy), (Fanatic, & or Tempest, & or Wraith, & or Visionary), Good against multiple enemies
  1. Ra Cards in play:
    • Imbued Fire
    • Additional: Flame Barrier, Inferno, Solar Flare, The Staff of Ra

  2. Legacy Cards in play:
    • Inspiring Presence
    • Use Power Galvanize
    • Flying Smash

  3. Fanatic Cards in play:
    • Use power Exorcism
    • Additional: Divine Focus

  4. Tempest Cards in play:
    • Grievous Hail Storm (or use power squall as a weaker substitute)
    • Additional: Gene-Bound Shackles (if done right this boost could apply to every attack)

  5. Wraith Cards in play:
    • Throwing Knives
    • Additional: Micro Targeting Computer, Combat Stance

  6. Visionary Cards in Play:
    • Use Power Enlighten

  7. Strategy: Use Legacies Inspiring Presence and power Galvanize, and Ra's Imbued Fire to power up all allied attacks by +3. All allies chosen will attack multiple times making that +3 turn in to a net +6, 9, 12, 15 or more. Fanatic's Divine Focus can be a great boon as it will get the attack up to 7 times a before it comes back to her turn (+21 damage bonus), that is if you have enough cards to discard, that is where the visionary could come in handy to help Fanatic stock up cards faster. Legacy's variant America's Greatest Legacy can be a great alternative. The allied boost will be only +2 but he can make a hero use a power a second time and if chosen right a second attack could make up for the lost damage. Some good enviroments that *could* boost attack even further are Insula Primalis, Megapolis, Pike Industrial Complex, Realm of Discord, Ruins of Atlantis, & Silver Gulch.

3) America's Greatest Legacy, Tempest, Argent Adept, Fanatic, healing & damage reduction
  1. America's Greatest Legacy Cards in play:
    • Use power Gung-Ho (use on Tempest so he can use cleansing Downpour)
    • Inspiring Presence (it does a 1 time heal)
    • Next Evolution
    • Lead from the Front (used with Next Evolution to essentially make entire team immune to one type of damage)
    • Additional: The Legacy Ring, Fortitude

  2. Tempest Cards in play:
    • Cleansing Down Pour
    • Additional: Otherworldly Resilience, Shielding Winds

  3. Argent Adept Cards to play:
    • Rhapsody of Vigor
    • Inspiring Supertonic
    • Eydisar's Horn (used to play both healing power listed above in same turn)
    • Vernal Sonata

  4. Fanatic Cards to play:
    • Holy Nova
    • Aegis of Resurrection (don't play until health starts getting low or it might get destroyed)
    • Zealous Offense (to prevent two non-character cards from dealing damage
    • Chastise (Temporarily remove non-hero non-character card from play)
    • Additional: Divine Sacrifice with Wrathful Retribution (this will make you target of 3 enemies but allow you to turn that damage into attack next turn, should have the Aegis of Resurrection standing by)

  5. Strategy: The idea here is to continuously heal the heros or prevent damage in the first place. Use America's Greatest Legacy's power to heal Tempest by +1 and let him use the healing power of Cleansing Downpour a second time, offering another +2 health to all heros every round. If the enemy is keen on using one type of damage (ex: Plague Rat's toxin) then Legacy can use Next Evolution and Lead from the Front, now all the entire team is immune to 1 type of damage. Tempest is a straight forward healer. Argent Adept can use Rhapsody of Vigor to heal 5 allies +1 health, or use Inspiring Supertonic to give Tempest use of Cleansing Downpour and another +2 health to allies, or use Inspiring Supertonic, Rhapsody of Vigor, and Eydisar's Horn so he can both heal 5 allies +1 health and heal himself +2 more. Fanatic is more of a damage hog. She can heal everyone +1 health 3 times but her real power is Aegis of Resurrection, if she is defeated she comes back with 10 health. With Divine Sacrifice she can be the target of the enemies letting her absorb the damage in place of everyone else knowing she can be resurrected (Before she is killed use Wrathful Retribution for ALOT of damage).

4) Visionary, Ra, Immune to single powerful enemy
  1. Visionary Cards in play:
    • Twist the Ether (play on the villian)

  2. Ra Cards in play:
    • Flesh of the Sun God (Ra must constantly use this power)
    • Additional: Flame Spike (Allows Ra to use an additional power)

  3. Strategy: Use this hero combo against a villian that deals most or all of the damage themselves (example: spite). Have Visionary play Twist the Ether on the main villian, now whenever the villian is going to deal damage to the heros change the damage to fire. Use Ra's Flesh of the Sun God to make all heros immune to fire damage. Presto you team can no longer take damage! I advise to include another heavy hitter hero in addition to Ra (all his power turns will be taken up, Flame Spike can help to counteract this down side a bit). *Thanks to darkroydante for helping me find this combo
Synergize the Heros Continued
5) Ra, Visionary, Nightmist, good for powering up Nightmist
  1. Ra Cards in play:
    • Flesh of the Sun God (Ra must constantly use this power)
    • Additional: Flame Spike (Allows Ra to use an additional power)

  2. Visionary Cards in play:
    • Twist The Ether

  3. Nightmist Cards in play:
    • Additonal: Mists of Time, Mist-Fueled Recovery

  4. Strategy: with this combo you can negate all of Nightmists negitive effects. The operation of order is Ra plays Flesh of the Sun God and makes all heros immune to fire. Visionary plays Twist the Ether on Nightmist. When Nightmist plays a card that damages herself, turn the damage into fire, thanks to Ra she is now immune. Another benefit of this is Nightmist will now do more damage.

6) Dark Visionary, Super-Scientific Tachyon, good for accelerated card playing and card picking
  1. Dark Visionary Cards in Play:
    • None required

  2. Super-Scientific Tachyon Cards in Play:
    • None required

  3. Strategy: Use Dark Visionary to place one card on top of choosen ally deck and one on bottom. Do this at least twice and remember the cards placed on the bottom. The idea here is when there are 2 cards that share a word incommon place them on the bottom of the chosen Heroes deck. Then them use Tachyon's power to play them both at once. This strategy can be used to better control Tachyon's power. *note: not a complete strategy by itself
Synergize with the Villians
  1. Akash Bhuta
    • Powerful Single Target, use combo #4
  2. Ambuscade
  3. Apostate
  4. Baron Blade
    • No real strategy needed here. I have only lost to him twice out of dozens of play throughs (and I was trying new strategies when I lost).
  5. The Chairman
    • Powerful Single Target. Constantly attacking non-character card. Multiple medium enemies. Use Hero combo #1 or #2
    • Have Visionary play Twist the Ether on The Operative (now all of her retaliatory attacks will heal Absolute Zero)
    • If done correctly Absolute Zero can take a retaliatory hit from The Operative, have the Visionary turn it to fire, reflect the damage at an enemy card and destroy it. This causes The Operative to retaliate again letting you direct the damage to Absolute Zero again. This way can create a loop that clears the oposing field of enemies if Absolute Zero has enough health (if not just heal him with Ice damage).
    • Side note: The hardest enemy I have fought and the most fun to find a strategy against
  6. Citizen Dawn
    • Multiple medium enemies, use Hero combo #2
    • Include Visionary and play Brain Burn, and Suggestion to stop Dawn from having 5 Citizens in her deck (prevent her flip)
    • Include Wraith and use her Infrared Eyepiece to prevent Dawn from drawing citizens
    • Side note: The most challenging villain I have faced, not the hardest but the villain I that beat me the most before I learned how to really play
  7. The Ennead
    • Multiple Powerful Enemies use Hero combo #2
  8. Gloom Weaver
    • Include Visionary and play Brain Burn when all zombies are in trash preventing him from constantly re-summoning them
    • Include Argent Adept and play Cedistic Dissonant, the goal is to destroy 3 relecs instantly (it is possible to win without hurting Gloom Weaver)
  9. Grand Warlord Voss
    • Multiple weak enemies use Hero combo #2.
    • Include Haka and play Savage Mana, if Haka is allowed to finish off multiple enemies with Rampage he can do massive damage (Personal Record 52 toxic damage)
  10. The Matriarch
  11. Omnitron
  12. Plague Rat
  13. Spite
    • Single Extreamly powerful enemy once powered up, use combo #4
    • Unique combo only works on this enemy:
      • Have any variation of Legacy and Ra
      • Once PL531 Compound Upsilon (the flexing arm) is in play it will force you to return equipment cards to the player's hand, have it constantly return The Staff of Ra and Inspiring Presence when it forces you to choose. Both will provide free health when they are played next. This allows your team to stay healthy.
    • Include The Wraith and play Infrared Eyepiece to prevent Spite from drawing Drug cards
    • include heavy hitting cards AKA, Bunker, Haka, Ra, Tachyon
    • Use Ra's Flame Barrier, & or Wraith's Combat Stance to retaliate against Spite's many constant attacks
Create your own League
How to create your own Justice League/Avengers (which ever you perfer)
Rules:
  1. Pick your team of Heroes
  2. start with Akash'Bhuta
  3. When a Villian is defeated start a new game with the next Villian in line (must vs. variants too)
  4. Must use the same Heroes in the same order through every game
  5. If a Hero is defeated they can't be used in any other fight (may use variants)
  6. Choose an enviroment subtible to the Villian
Defeat: All Heros unusable before all Villians were defeated
Victory: Defeat all Villians before loosing all Heroes
High Score: Defeat all villians without ever loosing entire team at once

It's over a year old Joebobjoe. You want access? I'll let you edit it. Like it says in the beginning it's mainly for me and all the stupidly powerful moves I've found that that stack. I've moved on to other games since.

Visionary is superfluous to combo five, which you'd know if you actually read all of Ra's deck. Meanwhile fighting Akash Buhnta using single target tactics is foolish because her whole gimmick is that you can destroy her minions to damage her. This entire guide looks like something slapped together by a fool who didn't even bother to look at the decks in full.

It also might be a good idea to show heroes or illains that synergize with enviroments. I once found that Ra was great in isla primaris when the volcano was out. Completely obliterated Omnitron that way

Just try using AG Legacy, F6 Tachyon, and Scholar when things don't work out with other heroes. They are the cheapest team that I know.

12 Plague Rat - Mr Fixer and his trusty Jackhandle
Andorxor 15 Sep, 2015 @ 7:49am
Flipped bunker can replace Tempest/Argent Adept for returning one-shots back into the hand and is even better than them at it because he puts them directly into the hand.
Andorxor 7 Sep, 2015 @ 4:45am
Flipped Rockcity Wraith + Ra = Ra can do 4 damage and is healed for 3 HP every round.
Cerebrovore 6 Sep, 2015 @ 4:27pm
Legacy Galvanise / Inspiring Presence + Visionary's Twist the Ether on Ex-Patriette who has Hairtrigger.

Each summon takes 4 damage before it can have an effect.
Cerebrovore 6 Sep, 2015 @ 4:20pm
Lead from the Front, Danger Sense (Legacy) / Imbue Fire, Flesh of the Sun God (Ra)
- Damage Sponge
Cerebrovore 6 Sep, 2015 @ 4:16pm
Mr Fixit - Grease Gun / Haka - Ground Pound : Let loose with your most damaging AOE (Twisted from Visionary) with no backlash damage. Also works with Ra's Imbue Flame / Flesh of the Sun.

If you can Grease Gun / Rampage + Savage Mana - you've got a one turn nuke that also stores all the trash as a second turn single target hitter.

Abz Zero on Insula Primus can wait for the Volcano, and then use Synergy 1 to repeatedly fire 20 damage bursts.

Once Vis has got her two Twist the Ethers out - Flip up the Cocoon and stay behind it boosting damage. If everyone else dies, keep piling on the buffs to her (they stack) and release when you need a one shot.
