I have been hounded by so many ppl to do a video showing the technique I use to convert models from their source format to be usable in Source Film Makers. So I finally made a time lapse of the entire process.

This process takes an OBJ model (probably the hardest type of model to convert) of Astrid, uploaded to the Models-Resource.com website by Jess.Cass42p (Thanks for the permission to use it Jess), imports it in to Blender where I give it an armature, scale it,  add bones and some new mesh, go through the painstaking routine of weight painting the mess to the armature, apply shapekeys to give it some basic facial flexes, give it an animated sequence.
 I then use the Blender Source tools plug in to export and compile the model into a Valve Binary model usable in SFM. 
I show the process of using the HLMV to inspect and edit hitboxes and the end result in SFM.

The total time taken to convert the model was approximately 9 hours from downloading the OBJ to finishing the scene in SFM.

Image Sequence pictures were captured at 1 cel/frame per second for a total of 32,440 cels using TechSmith Snag-it. 
The Image Sequence and music were mixed into a MP4 using the Blender Video Editor, 
The Into and Outro were produced using the Camtasia Screen Recorder, then everything combined into this MP4 using Camtasia Studio 8.    
Did I leave anything out that someone might ask about?       
Oh, 
QC written using Notepad ++, PNG Texture converted to Valve VTF format and Normal map were produced using GIMP (with VTF Plugin),  and a Very Basic VMT written using the VMT Tool in VTFEdit.
