Finding spellbooks and scrolls
Spellbooks and scrolls can be found as random loot or can be purchased from merchants for gold. The Healer, Wizard, Arcanist and Joker start with spellbooks and the Merchant and Joker start with scrolls.

Reading a spellbook gives the player access to the spell but their intelligence must be high enough to learn it whilst scrolls cast a one-time spell that anyone can use and does not cost mana.

Randomly teleports to a location on the level.The Joker starts with one of these scrolls.

Light
Illuminates your surroundings for a short duration.
Tips
  • You can share spellbooks with teammates if playing coop, this includes the spellbooks that the Healer, Wizard, Arcanist and Joker start with.
  • The colour of the spellbook does not indicate the spell that can be learned from it so remember to appraise before attempting to use them.

I simply do not understand the teleport spell or ring. What's the point if you can't direct it? All it will do is lead you into danger the majority of the time. Not at all worth using or having.

how does remove curse work? i havent gotten it to uncurse anything

sonofsl: In order to use spells, you have to equip them. You can take them in use from spell screen, which can be acccessed from clicking right corner (scroll/parchment image) of the inventory screen and you can drag them to the hotbar for quick access just like any other item.

And for your other question: It's propably possible to 'recharge' staffs with scrolls of repair considering their condition degrades (in use) same way as with weapons, but this is just my theory.

How do you use the mana bar? When I casted spells, it simply damaged my staff at the beginning until it became useless. The mana bar is never drained. How do you recharge the staff? Can you? And there's a bug: I can only cast Light. I can't cast firball or any other spell.

Summon scroll is a thing now, has the chance to summon a slime or rat to assist you That's as far as i know.

The Joker starts with three teleport scrolls, not one.

I have to say, sleep is rediculously useful, it's like a weaker form of paralysis.
