I'd use the ring of levitation and pelt him with rocks or spells while floating. The stone the jester carries that you mentioned (-20 wgt) I believe is a luckstone. In the earliest days of rogue gaming before they had graphics even! was the game nethack which started it all. In nethack at the lowest levels of the gnomish mines there were two stones you could find, a loadstone and a luckstone. The loadstone was cursed like everything else in that foul place! but the luckstone would give it's owner +2 luck and I believe might reduce their weight but not sure.
