The Bestiary - What you will face
By Kashtano
The ingame Bestiary shows the monsters you will encounter after you defeated several of them which might defeat the purpose a bit. Of course, such information is some kind of spoiler, but that is what a guide is all about, right?

Introduction
As there already are guides for weapons and classes out here on Steam, I decided to open up a Bestiary. I don't intend to include the bosses right now, but this might change if there is demand. Keep in mind that any information about tactics might change according to difficulty, your player character and your perk deck.
Small Yellow Slime
The yellow ones are the smallest and weakest slimes. Several of them appear when a green slime is killed. Their attack is a single, non-homing shot, so danger lies in their numbers, not in their strength. Like all slimes, they change position quickly after being hit, making weapons with a high rate of fire (like the Eye of Twilight) ineffective. Alchemic weapons come in handy here, as well as the alternative wand attack.
Lost Soul
A flying skull with a helmet. Small, fast and hard to hit, these are pure melee fighters. A useful tactic (although not the only one) against them is to run backwards beside a wall so they line up in front of you (see picture). They are much easier to hit with wand or staves after that.
Carrot
Kill the carrots!! Kill the carrots!!!
In most cases they are not more than wand fodder. Two things to know about them: 1. Like most fodder, they can be dangerous if they swarm you. Using a strong AoE weapon (e.g. Hellish Ember or Magma Rifle alternative shot) to avoid this is not a shame. 2. If they appear in higher levels (3 or later) chances are good that there is a Shaman nearby, so watch out for their typical golden shots!
Cockatrice
Weakest of the „chickens“. A melee fighter with a behavior similar to the Lost Soul, so the same tactics can be used.
Magma Golem
Two of them appear when an Ice Golem is killed. They are fast melee fighters and explode upon death so keep your distance!
Basilisk
Similar to the Cockatrice but with a more bluish color. Their shots contain acid which remains on the floor for a while. A large number of them can turn a whole room into a sea of dangerous green goo. To avoid this, try to single them out or use some big boom to thin their numbers as fast as possible.
Imp
A very annoying and sometimes even dangerous creature. They move permanently, making them very hard to hit. They attack with flame waves which scatter on the floor. Dodging is difficult, looking for cover or jumping over them might be a better idea. At longer distances you can use the wand or homing weapons (like Wraith Rings or Eagle Staff) against them. If you feel frustrated, you can close in and give them a taste of your Magma Rifle (or whatever you think is painful enough).
Kobold
One of the scrolls you can find mentions their aiming skills with the crossbow. Keep this in mind, they are quite dangerous at long distances. Kobolds are one of two enemies to use off-aiming. When you move, they will aim at where you will be instead of your current position. To dodge their attacks, you need to change your direction permanently, making your own aiming difficult. Use cover to snipe them or close in to kill them quickly.
Banshee
Slow and weak, these are easy targets. Their shots though pack a punch, are very fast and scatter like an alternative wand attack. Some practice is needed to evade them, but after you get that, they are one of the easiest monsters.
Bone Ranger
Skeletons which hurl swords. Dodge their attacks and shoot them. Sounds easy, right? Well, it is. Unless you meet 15 of them in a small room. Use alchemics in such a case, otherwise they are quite straightforward.
Slime
The blue, medium-sized version. They show the same behavior as their yellow siblings with more HP, a larger hitbox and fast, but inaccurate salvo shots.
Evil Funghi
A pack of four mushrooms. Decent HP, but they lack mobility. Their attacks are powerful and homing, but slow. You can dodge them, outrun them or even shoot them down. Evil Funghi emit poisonous gas when you get near them, but there is no need to do so anyway.
Ulmar Fish
Quite mobile, but larger than the Imp. They need to stop before they shoot, giving you a chance to attack. Their salvo shots can be dodged sideways, so keep moving!
Orc
One of the more dangerous enemies, these melee fighters are fast, strong and tough. If you let a pack of them near you, you'll die quickly. When there is enough time and space to outmaneuver Orcs, the wand can do it, otherwise use whatever means to get rid of them.
Storm Beast
Slow and easy to hit, but strong. Their attacks are not homing, but fast and have AoE, so distance is your best friend against them.
Big Green Slime
Largest and strongest Slime. When killed, they break into several yellow slimes which can pose a larger threat than the original one. Green Slimes use a scattering, non-homing shot with a quite high rate of fire, so keeping distance and sniping them with alchemy or spells might be a good idea.
Bone Shieldman
These large skeletons with wooden shields and maces are strong melee fighters with AoE attacks. They are also invincible until they lower their shields during an attack. It can be helpful to freeze them during their attack, leaving them vulnerable. Or you could jump over their blast while attacking them.
Bone Sentry
Stronger version of the Bone Ranger. Larger and easier to hit, but more HP. They hurl three axes at once, making evasion more difficult. Keep in mind that they like to follow you, so sniping from distance or from cover needs a bit more skill.
Flying Armor
Their attacks work like Fireweaver Bombs and set the ground on fire. Otherwise, they are weaker than their ground based counterparts: less HP, no melee attack and no off-aiming. Watch your steps and you should be okay.
Ice Golem
Larger than Magma Golems and with a distinctive blue hue. They shoot ice shards in a pattern similar to the Undead Sceptre. Slow, easy to hit and with average HP. When you kill an Ice Golem, two Magma Golems are summoned, so keeping distance is advised.
Hollow Armor
Many, many HP and a strong distance attack (similar to the Firestorm Grenade). When you get near them, they do a ground-shatter area attack which is even stronger. To make things worse, they use off-aiming like Kobolds. Looking for cover and sniping them might be your only option, especially if there are more than one.
Rotten Stem
A carnivorous plant which is invincible until it opens to shoot. Hardly mobile, but annoying and dangerous due to their homing shots. It's difficult to get the timing right when they open, much easier when you are close to them, but that means almost no chance to dodge their attack ...
Shaman
Large Orc with hood and staff. The first thing you'll see of them are their small golden projectiles. These shots won't look very dangerous, but when you get near, they will accelerate, get a good homing ability and can do quite some damage. Shamans can summon Carrots, so they are top priority targets!
Demon
Large greyish humanoid with above-average HP. Their attack is similar to the Scarab Beetle Staff, scattering and with a high rate of fire, resulting in very high DPS. Hard to dodge, so looking for cover is your only defensive option. They are quite rare, so ignoring their attacks and just killing them quickly might be a good way to deal with them.
Bone Summoner
Large, lich-like skeletons. They are rare, but extremely dangerous since they can summon Bone Rangers and Bone Sentries. They also have a direct attack, a homing skull, similar to a purple Skull of Xanatos. I don't know much about their behavior, because I always try to kill them as quickly as possible.
Salamander
Larger, slower and tougher than the smaller chickens. They can shoot twin fireballs which are strong and homing (and can be shot down), and if you get close they switch to some kind of flamethrower attack. But their rate of fire is low, their HP are average and they drop much loot, so they are a more pleasant sight than Demons or Shamans.

Bone Summoners don't really do anything except summon Skeletons and fire their homing Skull. They tend to hide far away from the player.
