What it's about
Default Strats are the way you, as a team, position yourself throughout the entire map to defend every single way the terrorists can rush in order to take a bombsite.
On T side it's the way the T's are going to spread themselves throughout the map when they're not doing a execute right away.
This time i'll be focusing on the map de_dust2, on the CT side positioning.
If you follow this guide I can guarantee you will win.

Different Roles
When playing CT Side dust2 your team should essentially have:

  • 2 Anchors (long & B Site)
  • 1 Support Player/Rotator
  • 2 Playmakers (A Site/Short & Middle)
Positioning Yourself to Have the Best Defense Possible
We've all been there, do you remember that awful time when you played matchmaking on dust2, and your team went 3 b, 1 playing spawnish and you were solo defending the A bombiste, in a dreadful situation, trying to hold everyone off while the terrorists splitted A?
Well those dark days are over my friend.

Anchors

You should have 2 anchors:
  • 1 playing dedicated B Site
  • 1 playing dedicated long

These players NEVER leave the place they're playing in, untill they're 100% SURE that the bomb is heading somewhere else They're the most important players on the CT Side cause they allow their teammates to get frags and help somewhere else cause they know these players are holding the sites regardless.
These players should stay very calm cause they're eventually going to deal with alot of terrorists alone and they should be very communicative to the team so they can rotate properly, depending on the information given.

Long Player
Pro Players that have this role: NBK, GeT_RiGhT

This player's main job is to essentially take control of long and get to the pit. If this player is in the pit, long doors are smoked off and the T's aren't rushing in, it gives the team ability to focus in other parts of the map and setting up crossfires and clever positioning plays.
Then the player just needs to hold it and the support player can help him do so, by throwing some pop flashes to delay the terrorists and get the Long Anchor some sweet easy kills.

B Site Player
Pro Players that have this role: kioshima, friberg

Like the long player, this guy's job is the same. Smoke tunnels and get himself in a passive position where he can get some easy kills.
This player can position himself very differently depending if the middle player is playing close to B or in actual middle.
If the Middle Player is close to B site, The anchor can position himself by the car or fence, and set up a crossfire where they spot the Middle player first and the Anchor can get some kills if the Terrorists decide to rush.
However, if he's playing alone in the site, a good position is playing backsite, just getting info and waiting for the terrorist to rush to him. The time it takes for the terrorist to rush him, his team is able to rotate quickly and help with flashes and firepower.

Playmakers

You should have 2 anchors:
  • 1 playing short or A site
  • 1 playing middle

These players usually do a very good job in getting the first kills and getting their team in a 5v4
Unlike the anchors, they have alot of space to move around the map.

A/Short Player
Pro Players that have this role: shox, allu

This guy is the wild card, he can get himself boosted short and push and get some kills, he can play from site and defend short from a passive position. Specially in a passive setup, he's usually the awper of the team.
His job is obviously to prevent the terrorists from running in short to the site

Middle Player
Pro Players that have this role: Smithz, f0rest

He's also kinda the wild card, he can push middle to lower tunnels and catch some Terrorists off guard, he can hold middle from an awp angle, he can hold middle from B and also help the B anchor.
His job is to prevent the terrorists to go middle to B Site, and also to get information to his team, if they go short/lower or if middle is actually clear.
He can also AWP and get some easy entry frags in middle.
Good positions for him to defend are: window, B doors, close left in middle. CT Spawn is a bad position cause he can get smoked off easily, and he also should leave that position for the support player/rotator.

Support Player/Rotator
Pro Players that have this role: Happy, Xizt

Last, but not least, this player has a very important job, which is to get himself in positions where help is needed & where the Terrorists seem to be rushing in.
His job can be performed in alot of ways but the ideal one is:
This player should go long at the start of the round with the pit anchor to ensure that he can get to pit safely and take control of long. After long is secured, this player should fall back and play from either CT Spawn or A site and help short or middle.
If the terrorists either get a kill middle, or seem to be rushing mid to B, this player should drop CT Spawn and either do some damage mid, smoke middle off / and or flash, and hold that angle so the B anchor doesn't get boxed in the site from both angles.
Essentially this guy's job is to help their teammates set up, either by going agressive somewhere by boosting them, or flashing them in. If someone dies, their job is to play their spot and keep things somewhat manageable in a 4v5.

Conclusion
Since this map has been around for so long, i just want to clarify that this isn't the only way you should play this map. This is just the ideal positions that seem to work at least for me in my teams, in my CS experience.
I hope you learned something from this, maybe it helped you find your own role in the map and feel more comfortable about it or you decided to implement this system in your own team. Either way i'm sure you're going to succeed.
Thank you for reading this and good luck :)

Note: These positions are made for a default setup, doesn't mean that once in a while you can't make a 3 man push somewhere or try something else

While I don't agree with your positions, I still feel that this is a good guide. Good work. :)

Mirage and cache are pretty similar, but mirage's middle is way bigger

Ok, thanks! I was going to ask for a Mirage one at the beginning but then I realized that it would've been confusing, as confusing as if you were to make one on Overpass!

Yeah i love cache so maybe, it's all about mid control & anchors on cache tho. Close left middle is the sneaky spot close to the doors on the left side. It's good cause if they smoke ct spawn you're playing in front of the smoke and you can suprise them

Also, where is the close left in middle?

Ok man! Keep it up though! Maybe one for Cache? f0rest is a Mid/A person on the map if that helps. Anyways, good work!
