Nuture
At first I was going to add another video, but there is not enough unique content to warrant an extra video. The side game Nuture can be accessed in Shelter by clicking the Extra option and then Nuture. Basically in a nutshell it's the first level broken up as a tamagotchi type game which was added just to serve as some type of padding since the main game is relatively short.

You first appear with your five children in the den in a sick situation. You have to keep logging in everyday to find the limited amount of food (apples and turnips) and bring it back to your children. For the first couple of days you will only find two or three pieces each day. Keep in mind that the five chidren SHARE the food when you bring it back to them. At first your range will be very limited from the den to just a small section outside the den where a tree has fallen over blocking your path.

After you have fed your children 7 times or at least by day 5 they should regain to action. The children are new to their surroundings though and interestingly will not venture outside of the burrow, but will remain at the entrance. From here you will have to feed them, it is important from this point on that you begin to take note which child is getting fed and which one is not. You NEED to make sure that each child is getting equal amounts.

If you log in and it is night time you will get that same scary music you had when you played level 2 with a field of view circle. However you can relax no predator is hunting you and no scary noise will cause your children to scatter.

Day 8 your adventure begins with your children. They will begin to exit their burrow and accompany you. The fallen tree blocking your path to the river will also disappear allowing you to get to the river at least. You will now be introduced to frog hunting. The only way over the river at this point is through the small cave that runs behind the waterfall. However a boulder blocks your path from getting too much further even from this point.

If you have a sick child again because you missed one by a day or God forbid several children you can still regain them back to health by bringing food back to them again. If the healthy children go to grab the food you have dropped for the sick one, quickly click the food to pick it back up again. Important thing here is to make sure your sick child gets the food. If you fail to feed this child for several days next time you log in the child's body will sink into the ground and you will be unable to get that child back again unless you restart Nuture.

Day 15 a fallen hollow log magically appears allowing you access over the river, the boulder blocking your path at the back of the waterfall cave is also magically relocated to the top of the waterfall. This will now be as far as you can go. You are now introduced to mole hunting.

Day 19 The boulder at the top of the waterfall will now disappear allowing you nearly full access of level 1. You will be able to get as far as the canyon before the appearance of the Eagle/Hawk. This is as far Nuture goes when it comes to roaming ability. You will not be able to venture further than this.

Day 20 There will be a lack of food everywhere this is because at the end of the map there will be a fox that you can hunt and feed all your children. It is important that you get this fox. Failing to do so will cause the fox to exit screen and he doesn't just magically spawn in if you reload the game.

The total that the day count goes is day 365. The nuture game stops counting after that. The only other unique thing you can experience is that fox can appear at the start of the map too. Other than that by day 20 you really have experienced Nuture in all its glory.

Yeah 365 days is long, I just opened it up after a year, you never die, only your children do. Count definitely stopped at 365 days. Nothing new after day 20 though, you make it that far you 100% nuture, though there is no achiev for that.

Yes you can restart nurture, keep in mind that if you dont have any food for one day, the next day you may have two or more pieces, headbutt trees and carefully scrounge for turnips.
