Liverpool to Manchester Piccadilly via Warrington Central - BR Blue Period

Descripción
This Route is a much revised version of the original DTG Liverpool to Manchester Route which has been regressed back to the BR Blue days, specifically early 1980's.

Much has been changed but in summary -

Edge Hill area re-landscaped and remodelled to add the sheds area, stabling sidings, circular line re-instated.
Liverpool South Parkway returned to it's 80's guise as Allerton.

Halewood, Humprey Park and Birchwood stations removed - all other stations remodelled to reflect how they looked, or how I think they looked ( where no photos available ) in the early 1980's.

Warrington Goods Yard re-instated.

Carrington Power Station re-instated.

Pomona Docks re-instated.

Manchestrer Metro lines removed and are re-modelled with Cornbrook Junction re-instated and disused trackbed to Manchester Central reinstated in full. Manchester Central remodelled to 1980's derelict condition.

All station signs changed to 1980's BR ( see patch details below ).

Very many modern buildings, lights etc. along the whole of the route either removed or replaced with older style, have tried to reflect the 1980's general appearance on approaches to Warrington and Manchester.

Please note - this is not, and can't be, a photo-realistic representation but is designed to have a 1980's "feel". Some structures, such as Manchester United Football Ground and Deansgate Stations were created in such a way on the original route that they cannot be altered so remain in their modern state. On the circular line, as you climb the ramp out of Edge Hill, you will see a small metal fence across the line....this is permanently joined to the scenery on the original route, where it comes to a dead end, so unfortunately cannot be removed....you should be able to drive through it without incident.

IMPORTANT - Once you have subscribed and installed this Route you will need to install an Asset Pack which will provide the Station Signs, re-modelled Manchester Central Canopy and Route Markers - these have to be installed separately as the Steam Workshop does not recognise them when publishing - available for free download here -

PLEASE READ THE READ-ME for instructions on how to install, don't worry, it is simple.

Non-Workshop compatible scenarios are available here -

I would like to give huge thanks to brysonman who completed the track re-modelling for me. Thanks also to wotawally for hosting the additional assets and scenario.

Once I, hopefully, receive the required 30 Likes ( thumbs up ) I will be able to finalise the route and then I, and hopefully others, can publish scenarios for the route here on the Workshop - in the meantime please feel free to point out any glaring errors or omissions and I will correct them if possible before finalising.

Andy

Update 06/06/2016 - Updated version of this route published here -

http://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/liv-man-br-blue-route

This contains additional brand new track and scenery between Edge Hill and Manchester Victoria across Chat Moss. This was originally planned for Workshop publication but unfortunately there have been too many issues in getting it published even though only Workshop compatible assets were used.

Moyni, the route expanded somewhat, and is now within the "South Lancashire & North Cheshire" bundle linked here... :)

The links to the updated version don't work anymore. Does anyone know where else these may be?

Hi 737Jockey - thanks for the info. regarding the signs.......glad you liked the route. Have I understood correctly that you used to work on the Lime Street to Victoria route? If so, was that in the 80's? I'm asking as we are currently working on adding in Edge Hill to Manchester Victoria, quite challenging to figure out what scenery to include in some areas due to lack of period photos......you may be able to provide us with some useful information :-)

Hi Andy. Super route rejig.Well done mate. Remember travelling on the DMU's from Picc to Lime Street on a rail rover in the 70's. When I joined the railway we rarely worked over it as Newton Heath/Man Vic men, mainly ECS coaching stock from Lime Street to Longsight, and one oddity was the empty bullion train to Longsight. One minor point - I couldn't get the station signs and Central roof to install until I extracted the ap files with 7-zip in the Assers folder. Worked OK then. Cheers.
