Edinburgh is a grand city of grand sandstone row houses, each subdivided into many flats (apartments). I live here, I see these buildings every day, I love them. This collection is my tribute to one of the sexiest cities in the UK.

The level 1 and 2 row houses are inspired by upper Leith, particularly the Easter Road area. Houses are fairly flat, with occasional protrusions in the form of bay windows and reliefs. My versions of the buildings all have small front gardens, behind railings or privet hedges. Some are better kept than others. On the corners you will often find pubs, newsagents and Polish delis.

The level 3 buildings were inspired by the Bruntsfield area. They are taller, grander, and the sandstone appears a bit darker for some reason. More elaborate bay windows, turrets and other protrusions characterise these blocks. The front gardens are a bit lusher, and more full of greenery. The corner pub contains in its texture photos taken in Bruntsfield of a real pub, and also an Italian pharmacy. What? Edinburgh's an international city!

Level 4 and 5 houses will come, someday.

I'm a new modder, in fact these assets are the first thing I've ever created for a videogame (except some simple sprites for FTL). Bear with my if my stuff is a little inconsistent or amateurish - I've learned a lot as I've been going. Still a lot to learn. Yes, currently no LOD's, though I thought that CS was quite good at doing those for me. I've done my best to keep the number of polys and verts as low as possible. Great thanks to whatif_85 for mentoring me through the tricky stuff.

NB: These buildings will look much better once someone figures out how to mod in bad weather.


All the most crucial props needed for the front gardens (mostly hedges and railings) are included in the collection. None are made by me.
