The problems of extra mask slots can be fixed with some mods, and contract broker works as a job menu (giving you an idea of what happens in the heists), with the filters on lobbies working as a browsing tool to join the heist you want to join.

I think that an 'open world' heist will not work very well, as some of us who are not ultra-rich will have serious performance issues with the map. The mechanisms used in other games of only spawining the map only when you are near it will not work with the team gameplay of Payday, and it may not work clientside. I think that the safehouse as a main menu should be optional (but it still technically is the main menu, as you go to the main menu from the safehouse computer). I can understand removing some weapon mods (as some are statistically the same as others, some give no benefits (tactical stock (I think) with Commando 553), but as some weapon mods are for some weapons, others are for others, and they all generally have some purpose or another, this may not work.

Theu talked about the sfaehouse customization a LONG time ago.

I think the safehouse being an area for customization, main menu, etc. would be a good idea. Another addition to do might by adding upgrades which might allow you to unlock new heists, have faster vans, or even have a heli to drop in. Ex. - You start out with a normal, average van, but later you can upgrade it with armor to extend its waiting period in like Cook Off or Rats, or upgrade its wheels to make it slightly faster, decreasing the waiting period of the van to get to you.

I think payday honestly needs to remove the main menu and replace it with the safe house also safe house customization
