This Guide involves modifying files located in the games base directory. Usually some varation of the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common".

These modified files can of course be restored by either validating the games files, or by uninstalling, and then reinstalling the game all over again.

This solution solves the problem of the black screen of death when starting the game.

Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Vlad\video".
Delete/remove the "logo-sectiongames.flv" FLV File.

Next time you start up the game it should skip the intro logo, and the black screen of death that it causes.
