Closer you get the higher your heat level rises, this will cause damage to the ship. Not sure how close you could get to this one but most you can get pretty close. Caught Interstellar the other week, reminded me a lot of some of the effects in ED - didn't mind it :)

Have you seen Interstellar by the way? I watched it a few nights ago. A bit far fetched, but still entertaining.

Oh, here's a tip, you can turn off the sound and notification pop-ups when you take a screenshot, if you don't want them to disturb your video recording.
