Gathering Food and Tinder
Okay. So we need food and warmth to survive in survival games and of course Eidolon is no exception. This section will focus on gathering foods you can find on the ground in Eidolon and tinder.

Food is in no shortage in this game so all you need to do is:

-Look on the ground for mushrooms
Mushrooms are everywhere in Eidolon so you can gather around 60 in 2 minutes, and that supply should last a day or so until you have eaten them or they have gone bad.To get them, just stand over/on top of them and wait for a message to come up on the bottom right hand side of the screen, then right click. Don't eat bad or old food.

-From what I have found so far, you can walk through trees and shrubs most of the time (unless that's just my machine :( ) , so what you can do to easily get food on the go is to walk with your view facing the ground and just right click whenever a message asking if you want to pick up the item comes up on the bottom right hand side of the screen.

To get tinder:

-It's the same as gathering food -- just look for a reddish brown stick on the ground and hover over it until the message asking you if you want to pick up appears.

Where to find the items after you've gathered them:

With the original settings, to open your inventory just press tab and you should see four icons to the right of the screen attached to a notebook sort of thing that covers the center of the screen. Click on the icon of the backpack and on the notebook pages you should see some item names and their quantity written in italics. Click on the item you want and it should show an option to eat if it's food, an option to burn if it's tinder and an option to either drop or eat if it's mouldy, old or bad food.

I hope this wasn't a waste of my time and someone actually finds this guide helpful :P :D
Getting Meat
So. Getting meat is a little harder than gathering mushrooms.

Firstly, you need to find a shining diamond sort of thing floating in the air. I think they are smaller (or larger?!) than the information diamonds, and they give you things to help, such as compasses and fishing rods. You need to aquire either a fishing rod or a bow. These are accessible from the right click of the mouse or keypad, and you can choose from what you have by using the up,down, left, right buttons.

Bow
When an animal (deer, foxes etc.) are in sight, get as close as you can - stealthily - hold down the right mouse to aim and power the bow. Release the right mouse and if it's on target, the animal will fall. All you have to do now is to retrieve the meat and eat it.

I will talk about the fishing rod when I gain some experience...

Shouldn't you cook the meat at the campfire first, to not get sick from eating it raw, or that only applies to fish?
