Stats
As an Elementalist you want to put all your Stat-Points into Willpower

Here you can see my Stats:

The stats which are most important are:

  • Willpower
  • Spellpower
  • Lightning Damage%
  • Crit-Chance
  • Crit-Damage

Bonus Damage has no effect on Thunderblast. (Thanks to Psojed for the information)
Skills, Auras and Glory
Skills
For Skills we want to max out Thunderblast since it is our man skill.
I removed the Skillpoint which reduces the upkeep from the Lightning damage Aura to 10% because it is unecesarry. Also removed the 10% increased spellcuff passive.

Ink Leap is for movement if you get stuck in a place or just want to save some time.
I leveled this to 7 now and got the Mirror Image booster aswell as the rage generation and selected autoboost in the options. The mirror Images boost our damage and work as tanks. So we can get Katharina in Ghost mode and Willpower.

Elemental Aegis boosts our Damage and our Survivability

Auras
For Auras we use the two that boost our Damage

Glory
For Glory just put your Points into the obvious choices. (Stats Section: Important Stats)

Perks
Perks

For Perks here you can see what I used

I chose mostly Skill and Ability Points and the Lightning Damage Perk those are the best ones I think. Then you can choose whatever fits best I took 10% damage at max Rage as well as the additional inventory bag
Katharina
Stats

Everything into Body to boost our own survivability or everything into Willpower to boost our damage. If you choose Body then I´ll recommend putting Katharina into Melee Mode. If you choose Willpower either put her on Ranged Mode or Ghost Mode for 10% Dmg Reduction.

Skills
Since we deal all the damage ourselves the Skill choices are made to boost ourselves. I opted for Magicfind don´t know if it is worth though.

I know it's been years ago since this was posted, but by the sounds and looks of it this build was nerfed so badly that it made it unusable? Haven't seen an update since that patch came out discussed in comments.

Patch is out, damage of Thunderblast is down to ~0,4 of the original and cooldown is 3 seconds.

You can either go max cooldown reduction which will give you a 1.2 second cooldown, but you won't deal that high damage as you were used to.

Or you can combine Thunderblast with Spirit Bolts. You apply vulnerability with TB and finish them off with Spirit Bolts.

There's a cap just like with Critical Hit or Damage. I haven't tried to reach it in VH3, but in previous games the cap was 60% Cooldown reduction. In case Thunderblast gains 3 seconds cooldown, you could lower it down to 1,2 seconds with maxed reduction.

Psojed 2 Jun, 2015 @ 11:13am
You just switch some of your equipment into cooldown reduction
