These event numbers can basically be used like cheats, though some of these events may also occur naturally during your game depending on the country you start out with and all of it's stats. Using event numbers as cheat codes, you can force events that may not otherwise happen in your nation to happen, giving you oppertunities you may not have had access to before. To use the event numbers, you must:

Open the Cheat Window by pressing F12 on your keyboard.

type 'event' and the number of your desired event next to it. It should look like this: event #####

Let's try this in the cheat console: event 94003

If you've entered the event number correctly you should get the Conversion of Heretics event.

It's also possible to give an event to another nation byusing their tag after the event number. For example, if we want to give England the Conversion of Heretics event, we'll type in: event 94003 eng. This will give England the event.

Note that there is a difference between Explorers and Conquistadors. Explorers can board a ship and discover new oceans and new islands if you've discovered all of the oceans surrounding them. However they will not explore any unknown land! Conquistadors will be able to go on unknown land, find out what country or uncharted territory it is and from that point you can colonize it.

It's far more useful to have both a conquistador and an explorer on a ship together in order to make the most of any potential provinces or islands you may discover.
