Electroplating like a Boss OwO (5 Year Anniversary!)
By SapphireStar
This guide will take you through the awesome world of Electroplates! If you didn't know, Electroplates can absorb shots. These devices are found in a variety of shapes and sizes, and often are best for combating power weapons, those being Plasmas, and Railguns.

I love seeing all your comments, and I love that the guide is still useful.

Special edition: Electromania!
Hey guys! With the electromania update that was just released, the developers added the tier 1 plates again :D, only, these are T10.1, and there are no T1 electroplates.

These are small Electros with a unique purpose I'll show in a minute.

You can cover some weapon mounts, and other things with these.

But look here:
All of you out there who like layering blocks will find these useful, because they're small enough to cove your mainframe once your shell is taken out.

There you have it. These are fun to use.
Tier 2
Starting with the T2 Electroplates:
These can be configured in different ways to make them most effective. These Electros are effective, due to tier 2 being full of noobs not knowing how to use them. Look! You're already one step ahead!

The setup above is for "Centered bots", which most of yours will be. Most often with electroplates, you can lock them closest by having a "non-centered bot". I'll explain this more below.

(This configuration is for "Non-centered" Bots. When you build a bot, you can place one block, and expand evenly on each side, or you can place 2 blocks, and expand the same way from those. Centered bots have a block running down the middle, and Non-Centered bots have a line down the middle.) You see above how Interlocking these electroplates has taken away many of the gaps left in the other image.

This concludes the smallest, cutest little electros. Onward minion!
Tier 3
Hello, and welcome to T3 Electroplating 101. I'll be your overlord today. Turn to page 394.

The Tier 3 Electros shown above are curved! These are useful, although they do tend to get in the way of your diabolical bots out there. Above is shown in an NCB format. The sides of these line up nicely, and can be used to cover hovers, wheels, tracks, and even rudders pretty well.

This view shows one way to keep your wheels and hovers safe in low tiers. Watch out though, your electroplates may rub the ground! You'll lose traction, control, and your life if you place them wrong!

This is a way to shield the underside of your bot in early tiers. (This will work in NCB and CB formats)

I personally love this setup. It can be used to protect hovers and seats effectively, and it looks pretty great too!

ONWARD!!
Tier 4
Hey there! Thanks for coming on over to T4! Lets go!

These Electros are long, and thin. Again, the best use is in the NCB format, though you can use these in CB. I like these ones, there's a few really great techniques coming ahead, including a box!

This is a design I call feathering. The idea here, is that the enemy will have to shoot through all of these in order to reach what lies beyond.

Be warned, that if you lose the connection blocks, you will lose your Electros. The more Electros you have on one block, the more crippling it is if you lose that block.

This is the box aformentioned. You use the Electros to form a box around your seat, or your important pieces. Like so:

Tier 5
T5. The hated tier of all entering it. Welcome to the tier of the plasma bomber. These are your T5 Electros. The most oddly shaped in my opinion.

These ones have a few effective uses, believe it or not. "That shape is so stupid! How can that possibly do anything for me??" Hush, Auffy has your answers.

Firstly, NCB is great for these.

Some of the most fun I've had is making cones. (Yes, cones)

T5 Electroplates are a pain to figure out, but they're big. Well, not T6 big, but big.

And there's the T5 Plasma Bomber from the premium shop! I love this bot, and it's a great buy :D
Tier 6
Tier 6~ Let's see what we can do here.

So, upon request to expand my Tier 6 section, a comment suggested I show more uses for T6 Electros. He/She showed a new use for T6.

I think this works well for keeping weapons safe. Thank you, Jerr.

Tier 6.5
While the T6 Electroplates aren't exceptional, their real use is found in tandem with the T7 ones. Observe:

Lame.

Woah! Look at how neatly those fit together! You may remember this from the T7 Scarab.

Now lets get something straight here. I don't want to hear any of this "Low tier Electroplates are useless in high tier games" That's not true. I use T7 Electros (We'll get there in a bit) On my tier 10 bots a lot.
Note the T7 Electros are at the very front of my bot.
Tier 7
T7 :D I enjoyed T7. I'm a bad liar. Back to business, these here are the T7 Electros.
These are great with the T6 Electros, and work well in CB.

There are ways to make T7 Electros work on their own.

(Note, the above formation works best in NCB)
And this is shown in NCB. These are versatile Electros, and I still use them.
Tier 8
T8. I had a friend named Tate. These Electros are big. Annoyingly big, actually. You'll find these are difficult to work out on your bot, but don't give up, because what they lack in smallness, they make up for in surface area.

Look at that, there' even a little place for a gun platform. How nifty!

This is a Tier 9 Rail cruiser I had before the meta, and it used Tier 8 Electros to keep its rails "Safe"

Now we're getting into odd formations. These are shifted to use their surface the most.

These are T8 Electros in NCB format.

And here is an example of T9 smgs mounted behind them.

UPDATE:

A protected gun mount.

And the mounting plan

Tier 9
T9! You've made it this far and said to yourself "Wait... Why are these Electroplates smaller?" Well the answer is: I have no idea either. Anyway, these are best used in NCB.

NCB Below V

Now, these Electros have an interesting quality, and that's their angle. These can be used on a front side, or a top side. Observe:

Nice. They also fit side-to-side on an NCB format like so.

And again with the staggering mentioned in T8, this odd formation here.

And this one.

UPDATE:

A gun mount! Pretty great protection.

And here is the mounting plan for that.

My Tier 10 Interceptor, The D-188 Albatross uses these on the top.

Tier 10
T10! You did it! You actually took the time to read this! Or maybe you skipped ahead a bit, either way, Thank you, and I love you. There is a challenge at the end for those who are interested.

(Alright this here is a side note, but I didn't want a tier 9.5. The T9 electros also fit end to end.)

Now on to T10, as seen above, they fit very well with their connection points far away from each other.

Now below, we have a CB format. This leaves a nice platform, and a little line of blocks for mounting anything you like.

And look at how beautiful these are in NCB!

Here's a bit of the staggering thing.

And some T10 Layering.

See? Fun! Now, look at these.

This was a walker I had for a long time, before I scrapped it and made other things.

And here, is the bottom view of the Albatross. See the use of the T10 Electros.
Tier X-1 Part A
TX-1. The tier of the badasses. This is the highest tier in Robocraft for the moment, and these monsters play in T10, and rumor has it, in T9 as well. Lets take a look.

These are your T-X1 Electroplates. Well, half of them. The other Electros will be covered in the next section.

In case you hadn't noticed, these Electros are massive. Each one has 5 connection points! Remember, all of the others, excluding the T-X1 B Electros, only have one connection point.

These bad boys are super powerful, and if you look at my tier bar, you'll notice they are farther into T10 than any of my bots.

Above is a very conservative connection setting for the two plates shown in the first picture. The above-shown is in CB format.

You can align them on a side, and they fit pretty well in NCB format here. Shown above is the connection setting, and an inside view for an idea of the size.

Another way I found to put these together is more difficult to use on your bot, but it looks great.

These electroplates are massively powerful, and I think they look great. I have yet to apply them to a bot, but I'd really like to.

And here is a very awesome setup by Crombell! Thanks for your input!

Tier X-1 Part B
Updated to include this section!

These plates are even bigger!

Look at that monstrosity!

Place them on top to make a sandwich!

Or like this.
Extras!
Yay! You looked through it all :D Or maybe you didn't and you just want me to think you did. 0.0

Hooray for extras! These are some Electros that can fit together.

T7 and T9:

T7 and T10:

And another T7 and T10 setup. Thank you, Zvephra.

T7, T8 and T4:

I hope you enjoyed! Take a look at the challenge!

But wait! What's this? This weeks update is to include black and red T10 versions of every shaped electroplate! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you can have T3 electroplates with Tier 10 values!

In addition to this fact, the electroplates will now overclock!
The Challenge!
Alright Lords and Ladies, a challenge awaits those with competitive hearts.

You are to take every tier of Electroplate, and put them effectively onto one bot. If you do this, you get a shout-out in another section, and I dunno, a hug or something. Don't like hugs? Then you get a thumbs up.

Maybe this will help, maybe it won't.

A design made by Avaren! He has used T2-10 on his bot, and I say well done.

Avaren, you get a hug!

The shields are still exactly the same, however there are only 5 tiers and 1 TX tier. Thus, each tier contains 2 shields now. Another interesting fact is that T-10.1 shields have no been changed to T-1 (they are the very first shields).

@kerlillian i found a way to clip the corner tx-1 shields inside each otherconsider this if you still play the game, also you do the glitch by placing 1 DIRECTLY on the ground then 3 blocks back you place 1 more. i found this glitch when making a rail sprinter.

Are there different electroplates? This guide has become more of a time capsule for the good old days.

I like that this guide serves as a time capsule, back in the good old days of RC.
