5 Easy Steps
1) Download ReShade 0.19.2 Public Beta[www.dropbox.com]

2) Extract the file you just downloaded and then run the "ReShade Setup.exe".

3) Click on "Select Game" and then choose the "maxpayne.exe".

4) It won't be able to Auto-Detect the DirectX version so manually select the "Direct3D8".

5) Now click "Run MaxPayne Application" and it should work! It might give you an error the first time you try to run it. That just means you need to launch it directly from Steam and it will work.

You can now run Max Payne from Steam whenever you like!

This works for both Max Payne 1 and 2.
Here's a video for the people that want to see exactly how to do it.

There is an easier way: install Steam on Linux and play there. It runs flawlessly without having to change anything. You don't even need to install Linux on your computer if you don't want to. Just install it on an USB drive (I use an HDD on an USB 3.0 port).

The Reshade link is dead :(( And new version (3.0.8) does not support dx8. Can someone please give me and others another link? I can't find it on internet. :2017stickyorange:

The solution works as well, but something strange happens when i turn Sweet.Fx on. The screen turns in some strange black filter after a cutscene.

That workd nice for me!
I'm using a custom made Notebook from Avell Corporation (made in brazil)
It uses a Intel onboard card HD 4600, but when gaming it switches to a GTX 850M.
I use windows 7, x64.
My problem was that the game wasn't even showing the launcher, but the process was started and running. I put it up in compatibility mode with Windows Me/98, and I'm running it as administrator, and only them, by using the Software you recommended, it worked.
