This is a world download so don't let the list of mods worry you. Just subscribe and in the main menu click workshop and load the world. That is it.

This fighter was originally inspired by the P-38 lighting. It has moved away from that original inspiration but I have kept the name in honor of my favorite WW2 fighter. This is my first attempt at a high detailed ship. It is mostly for show at the moment, as I am still working out a bug in the landing gear when accelerating forward. My idea in designing this ship was to build a long range fighter / scout ship. I wanted it to be equipped for a long range asteroid scouting mission.

It comes with a custom cockpit with retractable canopy.

Four oxygen tanks as well as two small oxygen refineries.

Retractable landing gear.

Maintenance doors for the reactor, Guns and Cargo bay.

This fighter also comes equipped with a protected medical station for emergencies.

Two medium cargo containers for plenty of cargo space.

It also has a number of smaller cargo containers as well.

It is equipped with four Scattercannons, four 3.4 cm Autocannons and four 8.8 Battlecannons.

It has eight industrial thrusters pushing, One each for lateral and horizontal movement.

Very nicely done. I enjoy the detailed cockpit. The coloring makes me think of the Naboo Starfighter from Star Wars.

Thanks man. I know what you mean about the physics engine. The new ship I built is much more stable as far as the physics go. BTW I really liked your P-38. One of these days I am going to go back an actually make one that looks like the real p-38.

I am a fan of these types of ships, I just wish the physics engine could handle them without tearing them apart. Keep up the good work!

Big update. I redid the weapons load out as well as added some vents for the reactors. changing out the guns caused me to have to rework the front just a bit. I am happy with the update. Let me know what you think.

OK update for this morning. I repainted and fixed a problem with the cockpit. I replaced the moduler thrusters on the back. I also trimmed the world for any mods that I was not using.

OK I uploaded the new version with the improved landing gear and Lift feature.

Tartaross I am happy to hear any ideas. This is the first ship I have built like this so any help would be great.

Hey, man, I just check it out. Really cool ship and concept. But I have a few, small tips for improving the ship, if you are interested. If not, its fine as well^^ Just hit me up and we can talk about it ;)

I have a new version of the landing gear in the works. It is not perfect but better. I will upload it tonight.
