Introduction
Hi! I'm CKlidify, also known as Curtis Dongweed! I'm the creator of the first ever Captain Forever Remix mod! Also known as the "PewPewPew" mod! In that mod I replaced all sound effects with sounds I made with my mouth! How did I make it? Well, that's the whole point of this guide....
What do you WANT to mod?
First, you have to know what you WANT to mod? Do you want to mod the textures? OR do you want to mod the sound effects? OR do you want to mod the text files?

Well, first thing's first, you're going to want to download the Unity Assets Editor:
https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?5030-Grim-s-Unity-Asset-Editor

Afterwards, you want to go to the next section of the guide.
Sound Modding
So, you want to change the in-game sounds? That's one of the easiest things to do.

1. Go to your SteamLibrary folder (Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)
2. Go to SteamApps\common\cap4ever\cap4ever_Data
3. Open the Unity Asset Editor and go to File>Open
4. Open the file in cap4ever_Data called "sharedassets0.assets" (There's also sharedassets1+2, but sharedassets0 has the majority of the files, and has ALL the sound files)
5. If it's easier for you, you can press "Type" at the top of the window to sort by the types of files. All sounds are under the Type "Audio"
6. Once you find a Sound Effect you'd like to change, then right click it and press "import" and select the file you want to replace it with (If you aren't sure which sound is which, you can right click and press export to just listen to it)
7. Once you've changed all the sounds you want to change, go to File>Save As and BEFORE YOU REPLACE THE CURRENT sharedassets0.assets, MAKE A BACKUP! Once you've made a backup, then replace the file.
8. Launch the game and enjoy your mod!
9. If you want to release the mod, just upload the sharedassets0.assets file to any file sharing website (dropbox, mediafire, mega, etc.) and post it on the forums!
Text Modding
So, you want to change the in-game text? This is actually the easiest thing to do!

1. Go to your SteamLibrary folder (Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)
2. Go to SteamApps\common\cap4ever\cap4ever_Data
3. Open the Unity Asset Editor and go to File>Open
4. Open the file in cap4ever_Data called "sharedassets0, 1 & 2.assets" (In sharedassets0, you can find all the update changelogs, in sharedassets1, you can find all the enemies Speech Bubbles, and in sharedassets2, you can't find any text files)
5. If it's easier for you, you can press "Type" at the top of the window to sort by the types of files. All text files are under the Type "Text"
6. Once you find a text file you'd like to change, click it and edit the text on the right hand side of the window.
7. Once you've edited text file that you want to change, go to File>Save As and BEFORE YOU REPLACE THE CURRENT sharedassets file MAKE A BACKUP! Once you've made a backup, then replace the file.
8. Launch the game and enjoy your mod!
9. If you want to release the mod, just upload the sharedassets file to any file sharing website (dropbox, mediafire, mega, etc.) and post it on the forums!
Texture Modding
At this moment in time, if you try to import or export texture files with the Unity Asset Editor, the program will crash. I'm working on finding a way to do it. So keep checking back, and I'll add it once I find a way!
