airex_start - Half-Life 2 Beta

This map is a restoration of one of the many unfinished AireX Exchange maps featured in the leaked version of the Half-Life 2 Beta and the WC Map Pack. Many of the problems with the map have been fixed and missing textures have been replaced with the correct ones allowing players to go through with little to no problems.

This map contains several enemy NPCs for the player to interact with such as one Posion Headcrab, one Classic Headcrab, three Fast Headcrabs and two Fast Zombies. It also contains two car props that you can move around with the physics gun.

When you enter the AireX compound through the hole in wall then the music track "Black Mesa East" will begin to play.

- Despite the map being a restoration, it does have geometry issues and that is because of how it was designed back in 2001/2002. The very start of the map has a large hole right behind the player allowing them to escape the map and fall behind the rocks, this can be rectified by using noclip or outright avoiding it.

- The map is internally referred to as "gm_airex_start" for those who want to operate by console and it can be found in the "Garry's Mod" section of the map select screen.

- This map was restored in 2006 by Neo
