Info
These are just some ideas I've compiled of different ways to play the game after you beat it.

I'm writing this list because I personally was looking for other interesting ways to replay the game and found nothing so I decided to make this list for everybody else to use as well. I plan to play a couple of these here and there, but have not actually gotten around to it yet.

There are no rules for these, just general ideas on different ways to replay the game to make it more interesting, Do whatever you want and just have a good time with it.

I will update this with more ideas when I get them, (and feel free to suggest them if you have any!) So check back for more!

If you can not fill the requirements of some of the runs as in
Only use = ?????
I personally just use Melee till you get something you can use.

If something has been tested and found particularly fun or challenging or anything in between, I will add little notes to it!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Superiority Runs
These runs you can only use 1 type of weapon to kill enemies
(Picking up other weapons to sell is fine)

Pretty basic as a idea, but in general can make some fights/situations a lot more interesting to deal with, and there is some characters that buff up certain weapon types specifically.

1. Shotgun Superiority
Only allowed to use Shotguns.

2. SMG Superiority
Only allowed to use SMGs.

3. Pistol Superiority
Only allowed to use Pistols.

4. Sniper Superiority
Only allowed to use Snipers.

5. Assault Rifle Superiority
Only allowed to use Assault Rifles.

6. Rocket Launcher Superiority
Only allowed to use Rocket Launchers.

7. Grenade Superiority
Only allowed to use Grenades.

8. Melee Superiority
Only allowed to use Melee attacks.
(Weapons with melee attachments are fine to equip and use but you are not allowed to fire them)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rebellion Runs
Runs where you are not allowed to use certain mechanics/items.

1. Containers only
If a weapon/item does not come from some type of container, you are not allowed to pick it up.
(You are not allowed to BUY equipment from shops but you can sell)
(Items from slot machines are allowed so money has a point)

2. No containers
Can not pick up any weapon/item that comes from some type of container.

3. Boss loot only
Only allowed to use loot dropped from uniquely named monsters.
(Could go a step farther and say only bosses with a health bar at the top of the screen, but there is not very many at the start of the game so it seems kind difficult to the point of being not fun)

4. Shops only
Can only use gear that you buy from shops.
(Picking up weapons from other sources is allowed but only to sell)

5. No skills
Not allowed to allocate any skill points.

6. No shields
Not allowed to equip a shield.

7. No shops
You can not use shops to buy or sell items.
(You can use money you pick up at the slot machines inside sanctuary)
(This also means you can not buy ammo)
(The Eridium store is allowed so that it is not extremely annoying dealing with low ammo capacity)

8. No aiming down sights
No aiming down sights of any weapon type.

(Any guns that do NOT deal explosive damage or deal any kind of elemental damage are not allowed)

12. Elemental only
Only allowed to use weapons that deal elemental damage.
(Weapons and grenades that deal either Slag, Incendiary, Shock or Corrosive damage are allowed)

13. Blank slate
Not allowed to equip any item whatsoever.
(Can go a step further and say no putting in any skill points as well)

14. No reloads
Not allowed to reload weapons, if a weapon runs out of ammo you must sell it/throw it on the ground and use a new weapon.
(This seems quite hard but could be a fun and hilarious challenge)

15. Slot machines only
Can only use weapons received from slot machines.
(There is Eridium slot machines in the Tiny Tina DLC you can use your Eridium on)

16. Non-Uniques only
Only allowed to equip Non-Unique items.
(This includes all Legendary, Seraph, Pearlescent, Unique, Effervescent items)
(You are allowed to pick up these items to sell but not allowed to equip them)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Allegiance Runs
Can only equip items from 1 manufacturer that you choose before you begin your character.
This run is actually quite fun and has a lot of replayability due to all the manufacturers and the fact that some manufacturers do not make certain types of items and the items they do make have small special properties.

While the relics are not made by any gun manufacturer, I would say you can use them regardless what run you are doing, cause there is specific "Allegiance" relics in the game.

1. Bandit
Can only use "Bandit" manufactured items.
(Bandit weapons has large magazine size weapons but usually quite poor stats in general)
(Bandit does not make any kind of sniper rifles)
(Bandit makes "Bouncing Betty", "MIRV", basic grenades and "Roid" shields)

2. Dahl
Can only use "Dahl" manufactured items.
(Dahl weapons have burst fire when zoomed and usually low recoil)
(Dahl does not make any kind of rocket launchers or shotguns)
(Dahl makes "Bouncing Betty" grenades and "Booster" shields)

3. Hyperion
Can only use "Hyperion" manufactured items.
(Hyperion weapons gain accuracy as you shoot them, starting out quite inaccurate)
(Hyperion does not make any kind of assault rifles or rocket launchers)
(Hyperion makes "Singularity" grenades and "Amplify" shields)

4. Jakobs
Can only use "Jakobs" manufactured items.
(Jakobs weapons can not be elemental bar some legendaries, and are always semi-auto other then some sniper rifles, Jakobs weapons also usually have very high damage and accuracy and a hidden extra critical hit bonus)
(Jakobs does not make any kind of rocket launchers or SMGs)
(Jakobs does not make any kind of grenades or shields)

5. Maliwan
Can only use "Maliwan" manufactured items.
(Maliwan weapons are always elemental and usually have high elemental effect chances)
(Maliwan does not make any kind of assault rifles or shotguns)
(Maliwan makes "Transfusion" grenades and "Elemental Spike" and "Elemental Nova" shields)

6. Tediore
Can only use "Tediore" manufactured items.
(Tediore weapons are thrown like a grenade when reloaded and usually have poor stats overall)
(Tediore does not make any kind of assault rifles or sniper rifles)
(Tediore makes basic grenades and basic shields)

7. Torgue
Can only use "Torgue" manufactured items.
(Torgue weapons shoot explosive projectiles and usually have quite high damage)
(Torgue does not make any kind of SMGs or sniper rifles)
(Torgue makes "MIRV" grenades and "Explosive Spike" and "Explosive Nova" shields)

8. Vladof
Can only use "Vladof" manufactured items.
(Vladof weapons usually have high rate of fire and low recoil)
(Vladof does not make any kind of shotguns or SMGs)
(Vladof makes "Area of Effect" grenades and "Absorption" shields)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rarity Runs
These runs are based around the rarity levels of items.

1. White is the new Orange
Only allowed to equip "White" rarity items.
(You are allowed to pick up other items to sell)

2. Go Green!
Only allowed to equip "Green" rarity items.
(You are allowed to pick up other items to sell)

3. Blue
Only allowed to equip "Blue" rarity items.
(You are allowed to pick up other items to sell)

4. Purple
Only allowed to equip "Purple" rarity items.
(You are allowed to pick up other items to sell)

5. Legendary
Only allowed to equip "Legendary" rarity items.
(You are allowed to pick up other items to sell)

6. E-Tech
Only allowed to equip "E-Tech" rarity items.
(You are allowed to pick up other items to sell)
(If you want to get some E-Tech weapons early, opening the golden chest is a good idea)
(There is no "E-Tech" shields and only 1 grenade)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miscellaneous Runs
These runs don't really fit any of my other categories at the moment.

1. Empty or Full
Once you start shooting you can't stop until your weapon is empty.
(Even with semi-auto and burst weapons, you must keep shooting until your weapon is empty)

2. Bigger number is better..... right?
If something has a higher damage number, you have to replace your lowest damage weapon that you have equipped.
(Same goes for grenades obviously, and you can go off of shield capacity for shields)

3. Classic Hardcore
Have to start over/delete your character when you die.
(Giving yourself a limited amount of deaths before having to restart would be a fun way to do it as well)

4. Rebirth
When you die you have to drop all items you have equipped and in your backpack.
(Can also do the ruleset of only dropping items you have equipped)

5. Classic Speedrun
Try to finish the game as quickly as possible.
(Try to beat your previous record and can also choose different goals to speedrun too)

6. Scavenger Run
You have to equip and replace your previous item with every new item you find.
(Can only use 1 weapon slot so that way you can not just keep replacing one weapon slot)
(When you open a chest you have to choose 1 item from it and have to leave the rest)

7. DLC "Only"
Not allowed to proceed with the main story until you finish every quest in every DLC.
(Can take it a step further and say, no picking up any items or finishing any sidequests in the main story as well)
(Everytime you enter a new mode like TVHM and UVHM, you have to go finish every DLC quest again before proceeding with main story a second and third time)

8. Random Build
Must roll a number generator everytime you have to put in a skill point to see where it goes.
(Must put in the maximum number as the max number of options you have to put the skill point in)
(If you just google "random number generator" google gives one without having to use a website)

9. Fusion
Combine 2 of any of the other runs in this list for this run.
(Can pick whatever 2 you like or just leave it up to chance and roll a random number generator)

10. Indecisive
Let luck decide which run for you to do from any of the runs on this list.
(Like the above 2 runs, can just google "random number generator" and use google's)

Feedback
This is my first guide on Steam and just in general so I would really like some feeback on how I did and if there is anything to improve! If you have any ideas for runs or things to change on the ones I already have listed, please post a comment!

If I do end up making any other guides for Borderlands 2 or any other Borderlands games, I will include them here with links.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Small side note, when I originally made this guide I was only 14, so I just recently decided to go through and update it, so that is why there is some comments about grammatical errors and such.

I realize it was quite cringy and awful to read my terrible grammatical errors so I did not go through and delete any of the old comments after updating it.

idea: The Penny Pincher:

This is what Marcus would have been if he was a vault hunter.

1) in an effort to save money, you must always use the cheapest items.(4 weapons, shield, relic, mod, etc.)

2) whenever you level up, you must sell all items that are below your new level. You cannot use items which are below your level (this is done because otherwise you would only ever use lvl 1 white items)

3) If at any point you loose money you must sell all of your items to a vending machine (including if a rat steals money from you even if you get it back)

4) The challenge is complete when you reach money cap.

I got a challenge for you:

Gun Runner:

Once you have access to the safe, the challenge begins:

a tip: if you find a lot of Eridium for the black market, buy as many safe storage upgrades as possible

onto the rules for the challenge:

1. No Melee
2.shops are not allowed unless for ammo or health and shields
3. you MUST pickup EVERY weapon you come across (this is where the safe comes in and all the upgrades come in aswell) even if the weapon is WHITE and trash, you MUST grab it and put it into the safe.

before you get access to the safe, you can only use your backpack slots and inventory slots to carry weapons, so you must pick everything you can up. Once you run out of slots you'll have to sell the last weapon you picked up.

I'm playing a nothing run. No items can be used regardless of anything. It is impossible unless you use krieg though.

eey OP i've been having trouble finding a reason to continue, as playing the game just to get from OP1 to OP6 seems to only include stuff like farming the bosses for their legendaries.
so what would you suggest?

I seriously don't get the sudden resurgence of this guide lol really making me want to play borderlands 2 again and fix this guide up. I probably will anyway even if it goes back to being hidden under all the troll guides. So i guess look forward to that! :D

I've still been contemplating a variant on "Reset" where all items except uniques (red text) have to go if I die. It would make hoarding uniques, even lower level ones, very important. But maybe I'd have too many uniques in the end and it'd be meaningless, idk

@Click2winipod yeah i kinda just blitzed through this the first time and i don't usually write things lol never got around to re-writing it but i will soon since its still top 3 somehow and people have starting commenting on it again after like 8 months lol

Yo Gamerty108 if you don't know which form of "your" to use, just spell it out. Use you are instead of "your". Sincerely, grammar nazi.
