As a quick disclaimer, this guide was made many years ago for an older version of the game so some, if not most, information is outdated, however the general principles still apply. Furthermore, it was never fully finished so there is still a lot of missing information as well. I also apologize if there is any grammatical errors or incoherent sentences. At the moment I do not have any plans to update the guide to the current 1.4 version as the new Terraria wiki just recently released and it would make more sense for me to help work on that instead if I were to put the time in.

Biomes are the type of terrain you are in. Here is a list of all the biomes you can find.

Forest. Very green, and flat, with some hills here and there.

Over Hang. Land hanging over land, what else should I say?

Tundra. Snow and ice everywere, careful not to slip.

Jungle. Looks kind of like the forest, with a diffrent shade of green, with lots of vines and leaves.

Desert. Hot and sandy, if you're new you should mine the cactus, it makes some good armor.

Ocean. Well there's water......... AND SHARKS!!!!!!!

Cave. It's a cave.......

Hell. Lots of lava and scary monsters, it is not a place for starters.

Spider Nest. Watch out for the Creepy Crawlers, they're scary!

Mushroom. No need for torches, it glows! Make sure to get the mushrooms too.

Marble Room. Watch out for Medusa.

Crimson. A red place, with lots of scary monsters.

Corruption. A purple place, with lots of scary monsters.

Granite Room. A room made of granite...
