Based on Concord, NH micropolitan area. (Cities Skylines can model micropolitan cities to scale!)

Features: highway and rail connections, plenty of forest and fertile land along the rivers.
No oil or water shipping.

NOTE: The river in the starting zone is very weak. After some time my inlet started sucking dry and the sewage output began reversing the stream. You'd be better off sticking to ground water.
