Frequently Asked Questions
By RITUAL
I have put many hours into Nightbanes. One thing I've noticed is the frequency of questions, some get asked a lot. So I decided to make a list compiling all of these questions into a FAQ for new users to browse. If more questions show up, I'll add it to the list. Welcome to Nightbanes!

- Is Nightbanes Pay 2 Win?

Nightbanes is a CCG(Collectible Card Game). So if it's a question you have to ask, CCGs might not be the right choice for you. There are varying degrees, of all the CCGs Nightbanes is definitely the least Pay 2 Win. There are amazing upgrades to your deck that even money can't buy.

- What is this on the card?

Nightbanes already does a great job of explaining this information. All you have to do is open the Deck Editor and click the ? on the right side or check this picture.

- Card Rarity
  • Common - Grey
  • Uncommon - Green
  • Rare - Blue
  • Epic - Purple
  • Legendary - Yellow

- Leveling your cards

Leveling your cards is done in the Menu > Shop > Evolution - Leveling tab. Leveling your cards does a variety of things. Including raising their HP, changing abilities, buffing abilities, etc. There is a Blood Pearl value listed beside each card.

- Evolution

Evolution lets you take weaker cards and combine them into many new cards of which all have new powers, some of them being very powerful upgrades. Be careful not to level up cards that may be in an Evolution you want. As that makes it unevolvable. All the Blood Pearl prices are included.

- What is XP?

If you're new to games in general then the concept of XP might be diferent. Experience is earned from defeating quests/bosses. XP is applied to your account, as you level up you gain access to new cards which are purchased from the Shop menu using Blood Pearls.

- What is a Blood Pearl, Blood Ruby, and Blood Diamond?

Blood Pearls are awarded to you after beating a quest or boss. They are a free currency which can be used to buy Base Light packs. More on that ahead. Blood Rubies are rewards after beating the final stage of hard quests and bosses. You can use them to buy a full booster pack. After you've completed all quests there is a daily login and raid rewards. You are eligible for 2 free Booster Packs as long as you collect your login bonus and clear the raid each week. Blood Diamonds are premium currency and purchased with real money.

- Why do I have to pay Blood Rubies and Blood Diamonds to get a pack?

You don't, you have to click the pack and it will give you the choice of which to pay with.

- When do I get a new Vampire Lord?

You will get new Vampire Lords through packs, they are pretty common drops and there isn't a huge rush for them. Think of them as different flavors of soda, the preferences are up to you. So don't worry if you've had your starter deck one for awhile. That changes at around level 48, but you'll have a very good understanding of the game and can make your own decisions by then.

- What is a Reward?

A reward is received after you complete a boss/quest. You can only receive the rewards once(raiding is a weekly exception.)

- What is Loot?

When fighting a boss/quest, after each defeat you have a chance to receive loot. Loot can be gained infinitely.

- What is Faction Reputation?

Faction Reputation is earned through beating quests in each zone. Each zone has different rewards for reaching a certain level of reputation with them. You can buy them under the Shop Menu using Blood Pearls.

- What should I spend my 100 starter Blood Diamonds on?

That choice is ultimately yours. If you're an achievement seeker you could get 1 Childe and 2 Gargoyles. 2 Childe 1 Gargoyle. 1 Childe 1 Luckyfinger(Achievement Hunter), etc. My personal favorite, 3 Gargoyles. (These are subject to change when the Featured is updated.)

- What is an Attacker deck?

An Attacker deck when you're saving them is the deck the game will autoselect for you when swapping between Quest/PvP mode.

- What is a Defender deck?

A Defender deck is the deck the AI plays in the Passive PvP mode against a live player.

- Why can't I evolve my cards?

If your cards are saved to a deck, they will be unavailable to evolve. You'll need to remove them and try again.

- What is the best way to farm Blood Pearls?

Check each quest, they vary in XP/Pearl/Faction Reputation. As you complete a new tier on a quest the rewards go up as well, so try to 100% them all. Each Tier 3 rewards you with free Blood Rubies as well.
PvE
Person vs. Environment

- How do I unlock the final boss? (Skeleton King, Grandmaster Goku, etc.)

You need to clear all 3 stages of the final quest on each map to unlock the boss. To avoid further confusion, I will list each quest fight that unlocks the Zone Boss.

Osdraconis (III) unlocks Bone Lord.

Ivan (III) unlocks Natalia, Lycan Mooncaller.

Ratling Warlock (III) unlocks Zlatan, Lord of the Sewers.

Corrupted Morphling (III) unlocks Grandmaster Goku

- Which boosters should I purchase?

Menu > Encyclopedia > then start browsing. See what you like, both are a good purchase. Personally, I suggest the Base boosters but if you want more Corrupted/Vampires then maybe you'll want to pick up Oldtown.

- Why should I create or join my own guild?

With a guild you get access to raiding. Raid bosses have great loot, reward weekly Blood Rubies and offer you a PvE challenge that will make you use cards you may never consider to beat them. Each guild has a 20 player limit.

Raids

- What level can I start raiding?

10

- Can't I just kill a boss by myself?

No, raid bosses are a group event. You have a 13 defeat limit on raid bosses. Each raid boss has 100 Health and 1 defeat takes off 1 Health. So you would need at least 8 people in your guild to down the bosses.
PvP
Person vs. Person

- What is Active PvP?

Active PvP is ranked and played against another player. There are rewards for reaching higher ranks purchased with Blood Pearls.

- What is Passive PvP?

Passive PvP places you against player made decks but controlled by the AI. If your deck beats someone in a Passive match you get a free point. So make your Defender deck a good one.

- What is Friendly PvP?

Friendly PvP is unranked play in a room with other players. Great way to test your ideas or play for fun.

- What is Vengeance?

Vengeance is a passive PvP "currency". I believe it's roughly 30 Vengeance per Passive PvP fight. This can be increased in the store permanently both with Pearls and Blood Diamonds. For a bonus of +300, your base Vengeance is 330, capping you at a total of 630 Vengeance. Vengeance refills over time.

- What are PvP Tokens?

PvP tokens are a currency you gain from participating in PvP. Active PvP victories reward +2 Tokens, Passive PvP victories reward +1 Token, and Friendly rewards none. You may also receive +1 Tokens if your deck controlled by the AI defeats someone in their Passive PvP game. There is a counter on the PvP tab to show you how many you've received in the last 24 hours.

- How do I forfeit a PvP match?

After turn 3 an X with a circle appears in the top right screen. You click that to forfeit.

That's exactly what I said, mrandysais. :)

"You need to clear all 3 stages of the final quest on each map to unlock the boss. " You use the word scourge but these are called Quests. So I think that would confuse a new player. When I get a few more minutes I plan to add some pictures to the guide to make sure there is no confusion.

Nice, only one corrections:

You unlock an epic region boss by defeating level 3 of the last scourge in the area.
