Cities in Motion Cheat Guide
Door MightyOwl
This guide shows you how to 'debug' CiM to gain access to the following very useful commands:
  • Skip one day
  • Instantly complete an objective
  • Add 10,000 money
  • Skip passengers in an objective
  • Open the console
It should be noted that Steam achievements are still obtainable with these cheats activated.

Debug Warning
This guide requires you to slightly alter one of your game files in a process called debugging, so it is advisable that you create a copy of this file first, as a backup in case anything goes wrong. Assuming you follow this guide to the letter, and don't mess about with other stuff though, it should be absolutely fine.
Written Process
  1. Make sure that Cities in Motion is not open and then open windows explorer, and load “C:/My Documents/”. Inside “C:My Documents/” there should be a folder called Cities in Motion, open it. Your path should now be “C:/My Documents/Cities in Motion/”.

Note - Depending where you installed the game, and what your computer's drives are called, you may not find the file in your C: drive. That was only an example however, it should be on your primary drive unless you customised the install settings.

  2. Inside your Cities in Motion folder, there should be a file called “config.script”.

Note - The file may be called "settings.script", but it is exactly the same as "config.script". Use whichever one you have.

  3. [/b] Right click this file and select "open with..." Open this file with notepad. (Or equivalent depending which operating system you are using.)
  4. Once you have opened “config.script”, look for a line reading “$debug = false;” and change it to “$debug = true;”.

  5. Now scroll to the far end of the document and add a blank line by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. On this line type “$disableDebug = false;".

  6. Save your edited “config.script” file overwriting the old one in your Cities in Motion folder.

In-game Commands
You can now open Cities in Motion (just like normal) and start a game (or resume one from earlier). To access your 'cheats', press the following keys according to what you want:
  • F1 Skips one day
  • F2 Completes the first objective
  • F3 Adds 10,000 money
  • F4 Skips passengers in objectives (eg. If the objective required you to build a line and carry 200 passengers, pressing this would give you the 200 passengers, but you are still required to build the line. Note you can press F2 to complete the entire objective)
  • F12 Opens the console

I know this game is obsolete and is 2018, but are there any console commands?

Merci.
