Is that sympathy to a character, one or another? Is that just presence of some items, which fit one or another build? Or, perhaps players want to attach their builds some significance, becoming a part of the game world itself.
Maybe people make cosplays just to troll others (e.g. Trusty Patches or Loutrec of Carim cosplays)


Everyone has his own style, and with time, his play is starting to resemble the nature of the character chosen for the cosplay.

And here’re they!

Siegmeyer typically will be seen sleeping or meditating on his current problem, determined to continue his adventure, wherever it will take him. He is seen throughout the game and has various events which continue his story-line. Siegmeyer's often getting into trouble as he goes along, but always remains optimistic that somehow the obstacle will be overcome. His funny armor makes people smile, and feel sympathy to him. Also Siegmeyer's armored with the legendary Zweig hander which deals a lot of damage, and his small shield allows him parry very well. Therefore, Siegmeyer is an excellent fighter, who easily switches from defense to attack.
Class: Bandit

short bow or long bow (optional)

• Armor:

Catarina set

These bosses have very weird appearance. Ruin Sentinels are armored from head to toe in what looks to be bronze. These enemies are extremely fast for their size, and come at the player with a variety of attacks, many notable for their wide hit potential. Their presents in the locked rooms of Drangleic Castle carries some kind of a symbolic meaning. There are three named Ruin Sentinels, Alessia, Ricce, and Yahim.

Lonesome Gavlan is a traveling Gyrm merchant who, obviously the only one of his kind, who didn’t become hollow and preserved his humanity. He sells goods to player and also the only one, who can buy things from him. His simplicity makes people love him, and his catchy phrase “Gavlan dead, Gavlan Wheel” became a slogan long time ago. Gavlan’s armored with two greataxes, which are very mighty, but his awkwardness is also a disadvantage.


Class: Bandit

2 Gyrm greataxes
A caestus and Chicken wing (Smelter hammer) (an alternative)

Rings:
Ring of Blades+2,
Life Ring +2,
Royal Soldier's Ring +2,
Third Dragon Ring.

• Armor:

Gyrm warrior set.

I spent a lot of time in Dark Souls 2, having created countless builds and cosplays. Some of them are represented here. This’s only the first part of my guide.
