A question I get ALL the time in both my livestream and in passing... How do I unlock the costumes?

Unlocking Costumes

There are 34 characters, each with multiple unlockable non-DLC costumes available by default. Not sure if the Unlock All code from consoles works on the PC version of Last Round and frankly, since we're all waiting for online play to be released in 3 months let's just talk about getting them the normal way. It'll give you something to do while you wait. :)

Simply put, the easiest way to unlock costumes is to play the Arcade, Time Attack or Survival modes and beat them.

To go even faster, choose Tag.

So for example. I want to unlock costumes for Rachel and Honoka.

I'd pick Arcade, Tag, and beat the game on every difficulty I can handle using Honoka and Rachel, until all the costumes are unlocked.

You'll unlock a costume every time you clear the entire difficulty.

For example. Arcade, Tag, Easy. So I need to win 2 rounds, 5 times, and a costume will unlock for both of my characters.


There's no trick to it, this is the fastest way to go if you're not using a cheat code. Simple right??

Some more information...

Collecting the guitar item during Survival gives you a Power Blow/Launcher.

Opponents drop items when they are defeated or if you attack them when they are down.

Here is how I am unlocking all the costumes...

1. Fight -> Survival -> Tag Match -> Rookie
2. Pick a main character you are good at that you need to unlock costumes for.
3. Pick a partner character that you need to unlock costumes for.
4. Defeat all 10 opponents using your good character by doing Critical Burst combos against the wall. (or whatever other good combo you can think of) Occasionally you will also gain a free Power Blow/Launcher that you can use in your combo.
5. Rinse and repeat with all characters.

Why Survival?
Because there are no cut scenes between matches. (except in the beginning and end)

Why Tag Match?
Because you will unlock two costumes each run.

Why Rookie?
It is the easiest difficulty. Nothing much to say here.

Do I need to beat it on a new difficulty each time?
No. I'm unlocking all the costumes using the above method.

an even easier way is just play on tag team in arcade on the easiest setting, you dont have to beat all the oter difficulties. this is the way it worked on console as well.
