I have seen a mod that lets you export excess power in the last month or two but can't remember it's name. Just letting you know that such a mod DOES exist.
E.g.
0-100% of max station output cost is normal (i.e. locally generated power)
100-xxx% of max station output cost over 100% is x4 (i.e. node has import limit, multiple nodes needed for additional import)
0-negative xxx% sell at a discount price (personally i would cap total export income to 1-2xtotal electical maintanance to stop various silly situation)
I presume demand is (actual demand - generated power) / total import nodes.
