Introduction

If just like me, you've bought and installed this game, and you've found out that the Configuration Launcher is glitched:

Then this guide presents you an workaround solution!

Install

Download this File[app.box.com] Mirror Link[www.4shared.com]
Unzip it
Paste it on Rocket Knight installation folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocket Knight) and replace the original configuration file when prompted.

If you've followed these steps, when you launch the game, you should see the correct Options:

Uninstall

If for some reason, you want to revert to the original states:

Delete RocketKnight_ConfigTool.exe from the game folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocket Knight)
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu, select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache button. Steam will download the game's missing files.

All good, found it here but ended up not needing it, it worked off the bat for me on this newer machine.

I can not download from 4shared no matter how much I try, counter will not count down and if I press download it wants me to log in through another site which I won't do, I don't even HAVE any social media accounts anyway.
Zippyshared is defunct, so can you PLEASE upload it elsewhere? it is mere kilobytes.. If you don't want to, perhaps you could share it with me directly and I'll upload it to my dropbox and provide a public link.

RocketKnight_ConfigTool.exe does not even open for me.

The first time I ran the game in Windows 11 it said it needed to download a Windows Component (it might have been something .net related). The config program still didn't open. I restarted. It still does not open.

Running RocketKnight.exe does work but, consistently, about 7 minutes into the game, a black window appears over the game and then it freezes.

Can anyone help?

I've come up with a makeshift fix that will allow all controllers to work and plays nice with BigBox.

Step 1: Open Rocket Knight directory and remove RocketKnight_ConfigTool.exe (If you need the file back later you can just check game integrity to redownload it through steam).

Step 2: Rename your RocketKnight.exe file to "RocketKnight_ConfigTool.exe"

Step 3: Steam Library > Rocket Knight > Settings > Properties > Launch Options > (Type "-fullscreen" here)

Like I said, this is just a makeshift fix but you're more than welcome to add it to your guide for all the users
on here and Reddit that are still unable to get the files to open or that were having controller issues when running
the regular config.
