Yes, despite a firm statement earlier, FreeJam has decided to keep the old mode.
In a surprising turn of events, FreeJam has proven to us that they do indeed listen and act on the will of there players.
The original mode will be renamed as "Classic", and will be available as an alternate to the main mode, with yet to be determined requirements for unlocking.

Within reason. There will be a short cooldown on respawning, but at almost any given time you can respawn.
The thing is, respawning can take as long as 90 seconds to complete...

The pit will be a FFA mode with up to 30 robots at the same time. Similarly tiered robots will be placed in the area, and the fighting is never-ending.
This is intended to be the mode for RP farming and weapons testing.

The Fusion Shields will be able to take an unlimited amount of damage.
They will block all incoming shots and allow outgoing shots to pass through, however outgoing shots will be remlocked. Both teams can move there bots freely through Fusion Shields.
A team's Fusion Shield can be deactivated by capturing all four Fusion Towers. If even one Fusion Tower is recaptured however, the Fusion Shields will return.
After 20 minutes, both Fusion Shields will run out of power and permanently deactivate.

Remlocking is something that can happen to any kind of player controlled damage giving item. When, say, a bullet is remlocked, (via power-ups or other methods), the perks of giving damage to an enemy, (such as rage-boost, combo speed, XP gain, or in this case, overclocking increase), are denied the attacking player.
This is done in many time-based MMO battles as a simple handicap, but Robocraft is using it to (effectively) discourage teams staying in there Fusion Shields for the whole game.

Little has been released on this, but it is possible that this could happen. Instead of giving you my guess, here are the facts:

• Platooning is intended to be allowed in the Pit at this time.
  
• The Pit's goal is that everyone can fight everyone.
  
• Platoon's goal is that small groups friends can play together, normally as co-op.
  
• The meta is planing to add new game modes and ways to play as time goes on.
  
• Clan's goal is to have large groups of people fighting other large groups of people.
  
• The current cap on players in the same Pit is 30.

So, I know what this makes me think, but I will leave the deciding up to you.
Any news on this will be posted here as soon as it is released or leaked.

In the first phases of the meta, no. However, new maps with new kinds of environment are being planned and worked on even now!
With all this it is clear that adding new and unique maps is on the top of FreeJams post-meta checklist. The reason it may take some time before we see anything like nautical maps however, is because they are quite a bit more difficult to make.
New parts or part qualifiers would have to be created, and water physics and graphics would have to be made. This is harder than simply laying out old and new textures in a different pattern, or simpler algorithms like. "if Player_Robot overlapping Lava then every 00:00:00.01 subtract 5 from counter Player_Robot_Health".
I do think it is highly posable that nautical maps will be added in time, although I imagine it as being an update all to it's own. (As was the megabot update.)
I will post any news on this here as soon as it becomes available.

It should be first noted that the Reset ability was only an example. Although it is likely it will be used,, it is unconfirmed at this time.
If it is implemented however, it will not be reliant on the Nano Disruptor's mechanics.
To activate the ability, one would simply target an ally, it would be unable to target enemies.

First, they will be bought with be bought with TP. It can be bought with any TP, and you can use TP from multiple tiers for the same SCU purchase.
The price has yet to be confirmed, but it has been suggested to be 5,000. I will update this when new intel is provided.

In the end, there is no real answer for this question, as every ability with have its own specs.
Ability have a heavy cool down time, and they can not be used at all unless you are a high enough OP-level. This makes the chance of a group of one team successfully "sniping" the other with SCU abilities very low.
