deployment
In the game you want to have the best security so your prisoners dont escape. the best way and most economical places for your guards are in the cell area and canteen.

First of all click staff and hire a few guards.

After that click deployment and selct the guard icon and left click were you want the to be stationed

And to get rid of a guard stationed there right click on the area.

Now i would recomend investing in dog patrols because they help find tunnels i make my dog patrols go around the prison and near the cells to help find contraband. to draw a line for the dog patrols hold left mouse and drag.

Guards cost money to keeps them employed so if you have too many you will start to lose income to fire unneeded guards go to reports which is down the bottom right of the screen and looks like a clipboard, then go to staff and if you hover your mouse over them you will see you can fire them by clicking with you left mouse.

doors
Doors what would we do with out them?
in this game there are many doors. i recomend small jail dors for the cells, 2 sets of large jail doors near the prisoner intake and staff doors every where else but not every place needs a door, I just have doors on the out side of my prison to stop prisoners from escaping, on the inside they can roam freely apart from entering restricted areas which i block off with staff doors.

Here is a exmple of my prisoner intake area i have 2 sets of doors and a metal detector so when prisoners come in they are scaned for weapons, but notice how apart from the cells every thing else it free to acces, it helps with fluency because the prisoners dont have to wait for a guard to open the dor for them and your workers and cleaners can get to areas easier.
