Yeah this is a dirt 3 guide for Sims 3 since I dont own sims I cant make a guide there. (logic)

"There are two ways to do this:

1. Download and use NRAA's Overwatch mod, which will clean up stuck sims, clear out homeless sims and the dead, and turn off tvs. It makes the game run much smoother because things get reset automatically every Sim-day. If you're new to mods and stuff, there are good tutorials on how to install it on that site. I also recommend ErrorTrap and MasterController, if you're in the market.

2. Every so often open up the command console (Ctrl+Shift+C for PC) and type in resetsim *.* and that will reset every sim in your town including your own. It will get them unstuck for a little while, but eventually wherever they got stuck they will again. Give those a try!"
