Compass Basics

*Compass pointing North*

-To use the compass accurately you need to notice the slight difference with the pointer. One end is pointed which will always face North. The other end is circular and will always face South.
-In order to use the Compass you need to rotate the character until the pointer is lined up with the direction you want to go.


*Compass with direction labels*

-The compass above is labeled above to help you get oriented. The compass has an ornate piece on the South end and is slightly off angle. This can cause some confusion but once you are oriented it becomes easy to navigate. The arrow also moves in the opposite direction then is should (Alpha #2)



West is East, East is West!
-The compass moves in the opposite direct you are facing (current Alpha #2)! So when you are looking North and look to the left (west) the compass will move to the right. This is why West is on the right and East is on the left of the compass.
-The Sun rises in the WEST and sets in the EAST!
Navigation without a Compass

-The Dragon Statue in Argo lined up with the large building will align exactly North.
-The Dragon Tower is slightly NorthWest of Argo.
-We start on the South/Southeast side of the island

If the needle is always pointing North, My compass points directly at the sunrise, which is west. Is there a problem with the game?

papiwa, the compass is crafted at a forge with 1 medium quality and 1 low quality metal ore. I haven't found it anywhere yet, so I don't know if it spawns anywhere.

This guide is technically inaccurate.

East is not on the Left and West is not on the right as indicated in your picture. The compass is not move"in the opposite direct you are facing". The compass always points North as you wrote.

The needle-arrow does not, and should not point in the direction you are facing when going East or West. Just as in the real world the needle-arrow always points North.

Mhmm the compass is very confusing. Need to flip the W and E like you got there. When you face north and rotate to your right compass should point NE but it turns oppisite way of normal compass.
