3. Transforming a robot to alt mode in order to have it join a battle simply adds their Strength and Endurance to Robots in battle. If no other Robots are in battle, there is no battle to join. Transformed modes only allow support effects and occasional damage, but they are not meant for solo battles.
4. A Robot's Speed MUST equal or exceed the slowest Robot in battle in order for that Robot to join battle. Abilities like "Join a Battle" circumvent this requirement.
5. Finally, yes. Damage is dealt as a "victory" per battle. If Gears defeats Soundwave in battle, then Soundwave is "damaged" and will need to spend an entire turn in Homebase with a science-type Robot in order to remove that damage. If a damaged Robot goes into battle and loses, they are then 'destroyed' and sent to the scrappile.
Sorry these answers took so long to come. I've been out of the game dev hobby for years.
1. Attacking a homebase requires Robots to be moved from other Resources the defender player has control of. This can only happen once per turn.
2. Each player takes a full turn then passes it to the next. Actions that focus on 'Action phase' can be used by either player in any turn as long as it's in the Action phase of that turn. Using an ability like "join battle" can be used in situations where the Robot could not normally join (such as if his Speed was too low or the Support Limit was reached). In the case of Gears, his card was misprinted. Air Jet should allow Gears to move to any Resource regardless of Speed requirements.
I've been out of game development for years but I might be able to locate our old prototype files that we sent to Hasbro. Can't promise it will be soon. I have multiple irons in the fire so I will be busy for most of the summer.
Glad to see someone likes our stuff.
