All Achievements Guide (Non-DLC)

First off, I would like to state that I am in no way affiliated with the creation, editing or even overseeing of this guide. The people in charge of this guide and its contents are SwelterinBeaver, Toaster Ham, drabik, LifeExpectancy, MCOREBE, thirstysmooth and C0oK13 MoNsTa (Xbox Live tags). With the credit being given, here is the guide I have found very useful, http://www.trueachievements.com/deus-ex-human-revolution-walkthrough.htm and if you follow it to the T you will have your achievements in no time. However, some people are more visual or maybe do not feel they are understanding what the achievement is asking them to do. Here is also a guide to all of the passwords and codes http://www.almarsguides.com/free/computer/deusex.cfm So below, I am going to describe each achievement and show a video (assuming its not story related or just blatently obvious) regarding what is to be done so you may get your completion! Pacifist

For this achievement, you must beat the ENTIRE game without killing anybody. (Boss fights are not included on this one since they usually require you to kill.) Should you need more than the TrueAchievements guide, this YouTuber's channel has an entire walkthrough. Just scan through A2ZGAMEGUIDESX's channel in order to find the first level and continue. Foxiest of the Hounds

This one is a wee bit harder. I advise you to save every room or so just in case. It helps you from killing as well as these alarms. Should you need a video to aid you, here is the start of a player who goes through the entire game for this achievement.

Gun Nut

For this achievement you must FULLY upgrade of of your weapons. This player shows you how to get the achievement by doing clips of where to get the mats.

Doctorate

You must read all 29 unique XP books within a SINGLE playthrough. Should you need a video, here you go.

Hax0r1!

For this you must hack 50 devices in one playthrough. This will probably come naturally, but here is a video if you need assistance.

Opportunist

Perform 50 takedowns in one playthrough. Bear in mind, civis dont count.

Consciousness is Over-rated

You must KNOCK OUT 100 enemies in one playthrough.

Ladies Man

You must convince Mengyao to tell you about the Hyron Project. Here is a video if you need some help.

Transhumanist

You must fully upgrade your first augmentation. (Any of them) This will probably come early. But just in case you need some help deciding on things,

Old School Gamer

For this you must find all the hidden goodies in Megan's office at the start of the game. The items are an eBook, Newspaper, Photograph, email, book and a toy car. Assuming you are not following the TrueAchievements guide or just need this one single achievement, here is a guide.

First Takedown

For this, just use a takedown. It does not count on civis, so dont be suprised if you try it on one and it doesnt pop.

First Hack

Ghost

You must make it through one area without being caught. So, here is how it is done

Unforseen Consequence

You must convince Zeke Sanders not to blow the chicks brains out. Here is a vid,

Lesser Evil

You must complete the side quest given from Tim Carella for this. Here is a vid,

Motherly Ties

You must complete a quest given by Megan's mother (Cassandra Reed) for this.***BEFORE TURNING IN THE BRACELET MAKE SURE YOU SAVE AND DO THE "KEEP IT" OPTION FOR ANOTHER ACHIEVEMENT (Sentimental Value)*** Here is a video should you need it,

The Desk Job

You must talk Wayne Haas into allowing you entry into the morgue. Here is a video.

Sentimental Value

You must keep Megan's bracelet instead of giving it to her mom. ***SAVE BEFORE EVEN GOING TO TURN IN THE QUEST AND SELECT THIS OPTION, RELOAD AND GIVE IT TO HER AFTER***

Cloak & Daggers

For this achievement you must speak with Jenny Alexander who is amongst "ladies of the night" in Derelict Row. Here is a (lengthy) guide.

Up the Ante!

For this one you must upgrade your first weapon of choice. The earliest you can get this is when you are on your way to the morgue, you will see some lockers prior to entering. You will find a reload upgrade for your weapon that you may give to any. Here is a helpful video should you need help,

The Take

For this achievement, you must speak with O'Malley in his apartment. When you do, pick "cold" and listen to him. If you are following the TrueAchievements guide, you will recieve both this and "Lesser Evil".

Balls

For this one, you should recall doing a previous side mission in which you delt with two drug dealers. In that area is a basketball court. Here is how you get this infuriating achievement in the easiest way,

The Bull

For this achievement you must defeat Lawrence Barrett. For those not reading the TrueAchievements guide, here is how this can easily be done. I copied this straight from the guide, "A easy way to deal with Barrett is as soon as you control Adam turn to the right and look for a gas canister, throw this at him. If this hits him it will stop him in his tracks, turn left and pick up a red explosive barrel, throw this at him. Return back to where you got the first canister and throw another one at him,. In the middle on the right is a red explosive canister, pick this up and throw it at him, and run to the end of the room and there are plenty more. Eventually he will die and you won't have been hit or fired a single shot." -TrueAchievements.com- However, should that not be enough for you, here is a video,

Yes Boss

For this you must argue with David Sarif and win the argument at tthe end of Chapter two. Here is a video should you need help,

Rotten Business

For this achievement, you will see in the start of chapter 3 two "women of the night" talking about their friend, Mei Suen. Follow a doorway to the Hung Hua hotel and find the 4th floor. You will overhear an argument and find Mei Suen inside. She will give you a side mission regarding this. Here is a video guide,

The Fall

For this achievement, you must throw Diamond Chan off of the roof. ***BEFORE APPROACHING HIM FOR THIS ACHIEVEMENT SAVE BECAUSE THIS DOES COUNT AS A KILL AND WILL NULLIFY YOUR PACIFIST ACHIEVEMENT*** During rotten business you have two choices near the end of the mission. You may either frame him (non-lethal approach) or pushing him off the roof. Which is what you must do for this achievement. So just make sure you save before deciding anything. Or to be safe, save before you speak with anyone.

Darker Shades

For this you must convince the manager to let you see Tong Si Hung in the Hive club. It would be wise to save upon entering the club in case you slip up. Here is a video,

Bar Tab

For this, you must finish the little side mission helping Bobby Bao at the Hive settle a tab. Do this before speaking with Mister Tong again. Here is a vid,

Guardian Angel

For this achievement, you will have to pay $5,000 credits in order to pay off Jaya's debt to Bobby Bao. When your speaking with her, choose the choice to offer her help. This video is for "Bar Tab" as well as this achievement, but it is still just as helpful,

Shanghai Justice

After entering Alic Pods you will speak with Malik. If you select the lecture, you will be handed the side mission for Shanghai Justice and thus this achievement. Here is a video,

Super Sleuth

For this achievement you must make Lee admit to murder. In doing that, you must find all of the evidence. That means the baseball bat, broken clock, phone message and email on his computer. Here is a video if your not following the guide,

The Mantis

For this achievement you must defeat Yelena Fedorova. Be advisded, if you are doing the pacifist track this will take 20+ shots with the stun gun to kill her. Here is a video via the Stun Gun "kill" for pacifist track,

Acquaintances Forgotten

For this, you must speak with Prichard after you speak with David. He asks you to investigate Brent Radford. Sneak into Brent's room, take out his guard, save and chat with him. Here is a video,

Kevorkian Complex

***THERE ARE REPORTS THAT DOING THIS ACHIEVEMENT DOES NOT VOID THE PACIFIST ACHIEVEMENT. IF YOU TRUST THAT, FEEL FREE TO JUST CONTINUE WITHOUT RELOADING. IF YOU ARE LIKE MOST AND DO NOT, MAKE SURE YOU SAVE BEFORE SPEAKING TO BRENT AND RELOAD AFTER ACHIEVEMENT POP*** For this achievement you must choose to apply morphine to Brent. When you are asked to apply a leathal dosage, do so for this achievement.

The Throwdown

***MAKE SURE TO SAVE BEFORE YOU ENTER ROOM 2005 FOR THIS ACHIEVEMENT*** For this achievement you must convince Bill Taggart to tell the truth in his press conference. I (and the author of the TrueAchievement guide) chose confront and unlocked this achievement (On Xbox 360). Should it not unlock for you this way, just reload. Smash the State

After unlocking the last achievement, speak ith Nicky who will talk to you about a "Jacob White" unlocking a side mission for this achievement. Here is a video should you need it,

Lucky Guess

***THE CODE FOR THE BOM IS 0000*** For this achievement you must disarm the bomb after knocking Jacob White out. Here is a video just in case,

The Last Straw

When you get to Sandoval's apartment, locate a circuit breaker behind some crates in the bathroom to get a secret door. When you have a conversation with Sandoval you need to convince him not to kill himself. ***MAKE SURE YOU SAVE BEFORE TALKING WITH HIM*** The author of the TrueAchievements guide got this to unlock by choosing "tough love". Here is a video just in case,

Good Soul

In chapter 7's "Understanding the Vision" you will eventually locate the Harvester hideout. If you sneak all the way through and speak with Tong, all the enemies become friendly. A cutscene will start when you are shot down. ***MAKE SURE YOU SAVE AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN ONCE YOU ARE SHOT DOWN. MALIK TENDS TO DIE EASILY AND YOU MAY NEED MULTIPLE TRIES.*** For this achievement, you must save Malik's life. Here is a video in case you are in need,

Talion A.D.

When you speak to Prichard and exit the contruction site, he will tell you about an upgrade in Adam's biochip. If you accept this upgrade the next boss is a HUGE pain. So it is advised not to do this if going for difficulty/event specific achievements. However, it is not necessary to upgrade either way. So do as you see fit. Here is an achievement on how to fight the next boss,

Corporate Warfare

You will find Mengyao (the giver of this achievements quest) in the Youzhao District after the last achievement. Here is a video,

Ladies Man

***SAVE BEFORE SPEAKING TO MENGYAO*** If you do not have the "Social Enhancer" perk, you need to get it for this achievement. Do not give her the chip and instead inquire. You must charm her to unlock this. If she does not reveal the info about the Hyron Project, reload. Here is a video,

The Snake

For this achievement you must defeat Jaron Namir. Copied from the TrueAchievements guide, "An easy method of killing Jaron is as soon as the fight starts run to the left and have the wall to you right, you want to run to the corner, keep watching for Jaron. As soon as he stealths and jumps onto the wall hold b and it will kill him instantly. This may take a few attempts to perfect. If you don't run far enough down the path he will jump over the back of the wall instead of next to you." -TrueAchievements- Here is a video just in case you need it,

Doctorate

This achievement is for reading all 29 unique XP books in one playthrough. Assuming you are not following the guide, here are 2 videos of MonsterAchievements doing them all.

Hangar

After the boss fight, do not go towards the opening in the roof. Head towards the waypoint look left for a small crate. Move this and here will be a room with a level 5 hackable terminal. The password is "trnsprt". Here is a video once more by MonsterAchievements,

The Final Countdown

You must convince Hugh Darrow to give up the codes. You will come across a turrent that you must hack the security terminal and disable it. Before you jump through the broken window, save. Here is a video,

The End

You must defeat Zhao Yun Run for this. Here is a video to aid you,

Trooper/Legend

These two achievements are one in the same. For Trooper you must beat the game. For Legend you must beat the game on the hardest difficulty. It is not a drastic difference in anything but boss fights to play on any difficulty below the hardest. So play the game on the hardest difficulty to unlock both of these.

The D Project

For this achievement, just watch all of the credits and do not skip.

Deus Ex Machina

For this achievement you must watch all endings. Now, assuming you are not following the guide, here is what it tells you to do. "Make your way to the last room and listen to Eliza, now save it. You should have 3 buttons in front of you all with different endings, and a tunnel. You're now in control, pick whichever option you feel." If you follow that process, just make sure once the game starts back up in the main menu that you just hit "continue" and select a different option until you have seen them all and have the achievement.

@Luke 'mutated Umbreon plush' S-C If you would like to make your own guide and include DLC you are free to do so. I may include them later, but I figured the base game was harder to get the achievements for than the DLC. Also, note the guide I referred to in my intro statement. They did not include DLC, thus nor did I as "my" guide is basically just their guide but with videos and small explanations on each achievement.

I don't understand why you didn't include the DLC, as this specific version of the game has all of it included.

Thanks for putting this together. I don't approve of video-only guides, but including videos with descriptions can be quite helpful for situations that are difficult to describe. 100%ed the game on console, but it's been a long time. Looking to do so here, so this should come in handy. Much appreciated.
