Pre-check
The easiest way to quickly calculate your chances is to do a simple Y/N test:
  • You use microphone and you have high pitched voice
  • You want to get the moderator rank to feel the power of the additional commands it gives you
  • You are asking questions like "Can I be an moderator/admin" while:
a)Having really low playtime on server*
b)Not knowing the regulars of the server, as well as most of the moderation team
  • You make simplest possible mistakes, such as building on spawn, building lagging constructions
  • You act R3t4Rd3d in textchat and/or voicechat
  • You don't know the basics of the basics on the server (!sky for building, using AdvDupe2, taking over bases etc.)
  • You cannot adapt to the team or you whine when you are getting punished for your actions

If for any of the above questions you have answered "Yes", then your chances are drastically reduced!
Please, don't bother yourself and quit reading this guide, as you will only create problems for us, as well as for yourself**.

*That is, less than at least a day of playtime. C'mon guys- you can't just join and get an admin after 3 hours...
**Cause we'll have to find an excuse to get rid of you, and since you are "one of them" (who failed the pre-check), it will be difficult to separate without a whole lot of whining and squeaking.
The intro...
So, assuming that you haven't answered "Yes" to any of the above questions, you should be now on your way to getting moderator rank, huh?

Some things you need to know:

  • The SA's and the owner (40/60) decide whether the "pool" for new people is open or closed- we cannot take more and more people to the team.

  • The "invalid arguments":
    a) "I just wanted to help the server" - everyone who has passed the "Pre-check" questions wants to do so. Also, we already have "the great saviors of our time"...
    b) "I will be good moderator!" - slaves who were about to get killed for something said that. They just used another words "I ken do gud, master!"
The above 2 arguments are really imprecise, its like telling IT technician that your pc is broken, cause nothing shows up on the monitor.

  • If you have quite a big playtime, and you are still not a moderator, then you must be doing something wrong- be more polite, play more often and more regularly. Get to know how things work and who likes what, as well as their style of playing/managing the server.

  • If you already were a moderator and got demoted for abuse/doing something stupid, there is nothing for you, go home and die.

  • If you see someone who has lower playtime than you getting promoted, don't interfere with it- maybe he was better, more active or maybe he had some ideas that you didn't. After all, its not you who decide, and its not your business to correct us in that matter.

  • The more you ask about being promoted, the bigger pain in the ass you are for us- begging your rank is really low and it doesn't build respect towards you in our eyes. You might eventually get the rank, but you'll lose it on the nearest rank cleanup, and someone there will "forget" about reinstating you.
Basic requirements
The very basics, without it (and the pre-check) you have nothing to look for:
ULX
  • warn
  • kick
  • report module
  • goto
  • votekick/voteban/vote
  • spectate
  • (un-)mute/(un-)gag
  • (un-)freeze
How bases work

Basic teleport commands

Chain of command
i.e If you have some minor problem, you don't go to the Owner or SA's if you see an admin online
Additional requirements that can help you.
If you want to climb the ladder of your administrative "career", you might want to consider the following features that will make you more interesting for us.
  • Use of teamspeak
  • Excessive knowledge of the ULX and URS mods (especially URS loadouts/restrictions)
  • Knowledge of PAC3 addon options.
  • Knowledge of ULX ent command that exceeds creating props and npcs without parameters.
  • Advanced nonE2 wiring - your own unique wire contraptions etc.
  • Being available "On Demand" i.e. no one else from the staff is online, and someone asks you to deal with a cheater/hacker (of course within reason- no one expects you to wake up at 1 o'clock just cause you heard steam message on your mobile).
Tips
Since you have arrived here, you probably know your chances. Here are some tips that might help you:

If Owner says "the pool's closed", it is closed until further notice. /thread.

Even if you meet the basic requirements, but we consider you a ret@rd or minge, you will not get the rank. /thread.

If you have less than a "Trustee" rank (70h), even if you could do some black majic with ULX, your chances of being promoted are still pretty low- we take only trustworthy people.

To have a bigger chance of promotion, try to talk to each SA about it, cause thats the usual (and fastest) way of getting someone promoted here.

Whining your way to the rankup never works- Its useless, makes you look like a pvssy, and even if you get the rank, someone will know how you got it, and will be pissing you off through your miserable job.

Be nice, but don't put a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of lube on everything- We know you really want that promotion, but shouting "ziz sehrvehr iz ze bezt" in textchat, and "(Current staff member online) for president" mixed with OH's and AWW's about every staff action is funny, but that's not how it works...
