I never went into optional vents because I felt I'd get traumatised for life if it would caught me. Closest I got was when I just crawled in and I heard it do the same - I noped out faster than a chestburster

lol It isn't the wrong way... Your motion tracker beeps frequently that attract the alien. ;)
