Once you enter the wardens room you should see this..

Turn left

If you turn on detective mode nothing will appear

Place 3 gels in the center. the gels must be close together seen on the pic below

BLOW IT UP!

BAmm. The secret room.
Notice the secrets in this room does contain/reveal the next upcoming batman game, which was batman arkham city. THe map is shown on a board and their are documents that contains some new villians.

You can hear buzzing of the room form the outside. Maybe that's how they found it?
Also if you are stuck keep trying it works on all versions you just need to keep placing gel.

im currently replaying the GOTY version, its no longer accessible. But i remember playing this when it came out and the room was there. Why is it not present nowadays? I have no clue...

I'm not seeing any documents related to villains. Only one has a name with:

Unless I'm missing something only Gotham is seen on a map...
