Didn't read Chelliste comment until after solving, but did exacltly what he says here.

Not sure what happened. I didn't use most of the elements. I just put the lens cube on the floor button (no danger from the turrets if you approach from the side) and a funnel brought me a sphere, which I put in its receptable and exited.
