The Noob
The Noob is that type of player that just got TF2 and has 0-100 hours of game play and will 9/10 times be running around with nothing but their stock weapons. More often than not that noob will be more of a hinderance to your team then an asset, most likely not having gone through any of the class training modes or gone into any practice servers so they will likely be at the bottom of your teams leaderboard with 20 deaths for every 1 kill but we've all been that noob at one point or another with no idea what we're doing. Given enough time and practice The Noob will eventually learn the in's and out's of the game and will advance to a Regular or even a Pro so try not to be too hard on these guys if they're not holding their own because some day they might even be teaching you a thing or two.
The Regular
The Regular is a good 80% of the TF2 community, usually having 500+ hours of TF2 logged with a fair assortment of cosmetics and weapons for every class. This player isn't the best in the world but they're certainly not the worst and are still quite capable of holding their own in a fight and sometimes might just be that final edge your team needs to win. The Regular is far from being a Pro but he can still pack quite a punch as almost any class since they likely have had practice with all of them.
The F2P (Free to Play)
Ah the F2P,now here's a topic that has spurred many a argument. So what is a Free to Play anyway? Well if you ask most of the community they're "useless N00B's that need to go back to COD" but this isn't entirely accurate. The F2P player is simply that,a player who got TF2 after it was made free to play by valve, sure they didn't get some fancy little hat that says they bought the game like others but that doesn't make them any worse of a player than a regular,it just means they downloaded the game from steam instead of buying it. Now you can't judge a player Immediately just off of his cosmetics, just because a player doesn't wear a hat or what most consider "noob hats" does not make them instantly bad. See those five dominations that F2P has on the other team? Were he just some "noob" or "cod kid" he wouldn't just have those now would he?
The Squeaker A.K.A The Kid
Oh dear god i hate these guys with a passion hotter than the sun. The Squeakers are 90% of the time underaged children who should not be playing a game that is rated M for a reason but their parents don't give a hoot and let them play anyway. These kids are more often than not lobbed in with The Noob in that frankly they SUCK at TF2 however unlike The Noob have almost no chance at improving their skills since they expect the server to bow down to them like some kind of god, when The Squeaker gets killed many things may happen ranging from them cussing at you on text/mic,accusing you of cheating, threating you with (heaven forbid) telling their mom or just flat out rage quitting and thus leaving the server that much quieter. Anyway, back to explaining what these guys are and why i hate them so much,The Squeaker as i stated before is terrible at TF2 and spends most of its time wandering around the base, screaming orders at people whilst peaking his mic with that high pitched screech of a voice and occasionally fighting only to get killed repeatedly and raging at everyone and everything.
The Pro
What else needs to be said about the Pro? They have several hundered to several thousand hours logged on TF2 and have mastered everything every class has to offer, from the soldiers humble rocket jump to the dozens of trick stabs the spy has at his disposal The Pro can do it all. If you've seen them play then by nature they command respect from you even if they may not ask you for it,The Pro, if on your team can be your best friend or your worst nightmare if they're on the other team but needless to say they have the skills and aren't afraid to use them.
The Trickster
The Trickster is a fun player but at the same time can be a extreme pain due to being unpredictable. The trickster is your regular TF2 gamer and occasionally a Pro that will run around completely hatless or wearing the gibus as well as only using their stock weapons giving them the illusion of being The Noob or a F2P. The humorous factor about The Trickster is that many a player overlook him as just being another easy kill only to later find out there's more to them than anticipated and they can actually prove very hard to kill. The Trickster thrives on deceiving his opponents into thinking they'll be an easy mark only to turn the tables on them when it's least expected.
The Trader
Not much really needs to be said about the trader,he comes onto servers spamming the chat with the items he's selling and hoping to make a quick ref off of it. They do not really fit into any other category since they spend most of their time trying to trade instead of play however when The Trader does drop the trade screen and actually plays, well they're like a box of chocolates as they can have the skills of a noob or be as dangerous as a Pro but for the most part if nobody wants to trade on the server they'll likely just leave and try a different one.
The Scammer
Oh lord this is an annoying little ♥♥♥♥ much like The Squeaker. The Scammer is much like The Trader only with less noble intentions,as opposed to The Trader looking to make a fair deal The Scammer will try to sell new players low value hats for the price of much more high value ones, they are also notorious for short changing people in trades by offering 6 keys for your unusual only to pull 5 of them out right as you hit the trade. These guys are sneaky little devils and will do whatever they can do make a quick buck of someone who isn't paying attention.
