Here's my second guide how you can use Steam as a tag for Status Posts. I'll try to explain it step-by-step with descriptions and pictures! Have fun! :-)

Introduction

A lot of my Steam friends have asked me the big question how this could be even possible to use Steam as a tag for a Status Post. Because the thing is that you normally can't choose Steam from the tag list because is not an actual game or software that you can "use actively on Steam".
Of course I also asked myself this question and after the time I found out the "hidden mechanic" behind the Steam tag. And I thought why not creating a (small) step-by-step guide to show everyone how this is possible.
Just as a footnote:
I don't create this guide just to hunt for Likes or "+reps". I just want to share interesting Steam secrets for those who also enjoy Steam like I do. :)

First step - Running Steam as a game!

To make a Steam tag ever possible you first have to check my first published guide how to run Steam as a game.

The more you run Steam as a game the merrier it increases the chance to use Steam as a Status Post tag! Vice versa: The less you run Steam as a game the merrier Steam will disappear from the tag list and you can't use Steam in your Status Post any longer. So be sure you always let run Steam as a game in the background to be toplisted!

Second step - "Collecting" tracking time for Steam

If you run Steam as a game you will collect tracking time for Steam [APPID: 753] and this will bring Steam as a tag in your tag list for a Status Post like you can see below!

Third step - "Check your Steam Tag progress"

An important side note is that Steam must be in the Top Ten from your last played games to be hooked up in the tag list. If you want to know how's your progress of Steam as a game, just check your games list to see where Steam is already listed like you can see below!
