Introduction
I noticed there were no other guides on Steam, although there are websites with walkthroughs outside steam, so I thought it would be convenient for players to have a guide on Steam instead of having to go elsewhere. Also, I'm not a fan of video walkthroughs, and I personally find it much
more helpful to have a guide written out where you can quickly find the details you need.

Note: It is generally necessary or at least helpful for story progression to talk to all characters encountered, and cover all topics presented. Therefore, required conversation topics to receive certain items or progress in the story aren't mentioned in the guide, except where certain topics have to be chosen in a particular order.
Helpful Video Settings
Before getting into the walkthrough-proper, something I wanted to point out about an issue I dealt with from the beginning: game video resolution. If your situation was like mine, the game starts out in a low resolution, and possibly 4:3 aspect ratio stretched to your 16:9 monitor.

To fix this, you'll need to run the Settings.exe application which allows you to setup your video resolution prior to running the game. Note that you can change these settings at any time, but they won't show up until you re-launch the game.

To run the settings app, go to (by default):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\CaptainMorgane\

From there you can either run the Settings.exe app or simply edit the Settings.ini file, which is updated by the app. For the best experience, you'll want to set the game resolution to match your monitor's native resolution. For a 1080 HD monitor this would be 1920x1080. 60Hz refresh should be fine, and only change the Anti-Alias settings if you think your graphics card can handle it; though this game isn't exactly graphics-intensive. You can always max AA out and turn it down later if things get laggy.
Chapter 1 Walkthrough
Castillo House

Inside

  • Grab the dust pan next to the fireplace.
  • Grab the broom from beneath the bench.
  • Combine the dust pan and broom in your inventory.
  • Use the dustpan/broom on (3) piles of dust:
    • In the cabinet at the left of the room.
    • Next to the barrel at the lower right.
    • On the carpet below the fireplace.
  • Grab the Water Jug from the counter.
  • Grab the Cloth from the barrel.
  • Open the toy chest and grab the wood sword.
Note: you cannot go outside unless you have the Water Jug or have cleaned up a dust pile.

Outside

  • Use the 'Full Dustpan and Brush' on the Large Barrel.
  • Grab the Pump Handle on the ground near the door.
  • Grab the Magnet from the Wood Pile.
  • Use the Magnet on the Muddy Patch to get the Pivot Bolt.
  • Combine the Pivot Bolt and the Pump Handle in your inventory.
  • Use the combined 'Handle and Bolt' on the Water Pump.
  • Use the Water Jug on the Water Pump, and then use the Water Pump to fill the Water Jug.

Inside
  • Use the Water Jug (filled with water) on the Empty Bucket.
  • Use the Dry Cloth on the Water Bucket (formerly Empty Bucket).
  • Use the Wet Cloth on the Dirty Window.

Outside
  • Use the Water Jug on the Water Pump, and use the Water Pump to fill the Jug a second time.
  • Go back inside and the filled Water Jug will be placed on the counter automatically; head back outside and go to The Fork (exit area).

Flat-Top Hill

  • Use Wooden Sword on Arno, then fight and defeat him.
  • Pickup Broken Ladder (Rope).
  • Use Rope on unconscious Arno.
  • Use Bobby from your inventory on the Rock.

Tips on fighting Arno: this fight can be a real pain, and may take several attempts, as it did me the first time I played. I found what works best is to not charge him, but wait for him to charge at you. When he's close, spam (rapidly hit) your Heavy Hit key (left-Alt). If you can land 3 Heavy Hits on him you'll win.

The Fork

  • Grab the Flask of Water from the Cart.
  • Use the Flask of Water on the Unknown Character (man sleeping).
  • Broken Flask is added to inventory automatically.
  • Grab some Dry Grass from near the wood gate.
  • Use the Wet Cloth on the Sunny Rock.
  • Combine the Dry Cloth with the Shepherd's Stick (makes Torch).
  • Place the Dry Grass on the Sunny Rock.
  • Use the Broken Flask on the Sunny Rock (ignites Grass).
  • Use the Torch on the Burning Grass.

Castillo House
  • Use Bobby on the Bedroom Window.
  • Use Nell on Bobby (creates Human Ladder).
  • Use the Human Ladder.
  • Use the Ledge (below and to the right of the Window).

    • First select "Explain about Briscoe."
    • Second select "Obey your Captain."
    • Third select "Reward your Loyalty."

Map Room

  • Use the Small Chicken Bone on the Locked Chest.
  • Use the Serial Number on the Open Chest to receive Briscoe's Map.

@acolomb1 Thanks! I was nearly done and kind of took a break because it didn't seem like anyone was really interested. I will definitely work on finishing this one as soon as I'm done with another guide I'm wrapping up.
