the focus point of the photo is to display the seamless integration between two terrain textures. The inability to discern where the cell grid for the textures begins and ends, it's fucking amazingly well done. the fact that you can say; ' It seems to start over here with some straw / dead grass / weeds, and then somehow turns into stone over here' without seeing...

........................the grid pattern stop and start over again is what makes a good terrain texture. (referring to the strawbase grid of deadgrass going into the water toward the bottom of the pane, where it turns into the stonebase grid of waterfloor, as the grid nears the water). it's seeing shit like this that I can't even grasp the scope of the difficulty this creative problem presents (the problem surrounding creating perfect terrain grids) that just makes me sorta awestruck.we laymen take this shit for granted. I mean c'mon. This shit is beautiful. I wonder how much of this terrain mapping was automatic and how much of it had to be hand sculpted..
