Re installed it. It worked with my V2.3 client.
Tried to cp back my serverconfig.xml--> still worked but no passed data yet.
I then cp back my "Saves" and "7DaysToDieServer_Data".
Same matching versions error occured. So i guess there is something in the backuped files that carry "something" seen as V2.2 and create the error. Hope it can help someone ^_^'.
after all attempte of any type of app_update 294420 *****. But still can't match th V2.3 of the client.
I'll keep looking into it and try to downgrade the client in the meantime I guess.
Thank you for your time.
as far as I know these should be actual names of the server branches, no idea if they keep them all available though.
https://steamdb.info/app/294420/depots/
so latest should be:
app_update 294420 -beta public
or rolling experimentals (link says released 7 days ago):
app_update 294420 -beta latest_experimental
or actual versions:
app_update 294420 -beta v2.2
but well, found the user ("getent passwd") reset password with ("sudo passwd USERNAME").
Still, I'm now having the same issue then Bonzo72.
I tried your solutions but nothing works on my case ^_^'.
this looks like same issue:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/10979
It might not get current environment right.
Another which comes to mind that you cannot write to the directory you specified (your user and directory owner is different or you created directory without permissions to write into it).
force_install_dir ./7daysded
login anonymous
app_update 294420
quit
but end up with an error : "ERROR! Failed to install app '294420' (Missing file permissions)".
I tried pretty much everything found about it, cannot solve it.
Anyone ran into the same problem ?
Spent basically 6 hours figuring it out until I tried playing around with networking. Costed me few hairs here and there.
