Running in the Forest
We have all done this once or twice, and in doing so we may have died to that Carnosaurus that was around the corner. This is the first thing I want to talk about: Running in the Forest. Don't do it, it won't help you because your putting yourself in a bad spot and dinosaurus are more likely to sense your presence. Your visibility is also cut down with trees, bushes, and other weather factors blocking your vision of dinosaurus. All you have to go on is the sounds dinosaurus make, which usual helps you identifiy which direction or how far they are from you.
Strangers
You see a player on the other side of the field. What should you do? Obviously the first thing you should do is alert them on chat, but under no circumstance are you to run straight at them and spook them. This could cause a rather negative response and you end up dead. You should always approach slowely, while alerting them in the chat. If they prove hostile then don't try to fight them, unless needed, then kill them as quickly as possible. You never want to enter a PvP fight alone, trust me on that. It's always better to go with a friend.
To close for comfort
You've made a small camp on the beach, or anywhere on the island, and you notice that large dinosaurs seem to gather around. The best way to deal with this problem is to use your Whistle trap (or whistle arrow in future content) to lure the dinosaurs away. A Carnosaur and a Styracasaur along with a Anky are bound to meet up and take each other out, and you got yourself that meat.

Now lets switch to Players. Players a single handly the most dangerous thing you will find in TSL. If a hostile player is geting way to close for comfort, you should start distracting them best you can, lead them into a trap, anything to keep them away from your camp. If they do find your camp, don't let them get away. Bolas them and cage them.
Caves
Caves are the safe-zone of the island. With this update and new inventory you are able to camp inside caves. Which is a needed thing, considering all the dinosaurs and the cluster of them all over the island. Anywhere else above ground is bound to have a dinosaur nearby that you don't want, even the beaches arn't safe. Caves are great, but you should always have a torch and a firepit set up before you get that teepee up, also don't log out when your in a cave, trust me on that one.
The Tribal Ladder
When forming a tribe, you should really consider the role that you will be playing in this teamwork. Will you be the chieftan? Will you be the Scout? Will you be the Hunter? These are things you should ask yourself and your tribe members. The chieftan should be the person who first formed the tribe and brought everybody together. I've seen people fighting over this simple place on the Tribal Ladder. When your in a tribe, it's quite fun follow the orders of your chieftan, considering hes the leader of your tribe and can have you bolas'ed and thrown in a cage. A tribe can only function if each and every member follows there roll. Im not saying you should be Roleplay and all, im just saying its somthing you should consider next time you try to form a tribe.

Hi Juno! i often experience people who dont know what do from the start, like at all. and its happening way too often and people give up if someone doesnt help them. maybe you should guide them through the beginning. others than that, i think its a great guide.
