HOW TO FIND THE BOSS EVERYTIME the easy way + Video Proof
By Your Neighbour
Can't believe I have to write this. Before you rage, 15% of the players, that's about 150,000+ people never managed to find the boss gate before quitting the game.

Preface
Every day I see a post about how hard it is to find the boss gate. Then I saw a streamer playing Megabonk, after they beat the first boss they are already top 85% of the ranking. This tells me approximately 150,000 of you can't navigate to the nearest Starbucks and I want to help.

VIDEO PROOF THAT YOU CAN FIND IT UNDER 2 MINS - EVERY TIME.
Navigating with a plan
Without a plan to tackle the map you are like a ship sailing out of port with no destination and destined to sink. A general strategy is to hug the wall of the map (Edge) then check the middle.

If you spawn towards the centre, beeline to the edge first then start navigating.

NEW UPDATE:
Pressing tab now brings up a map. Areas you have navigated is cleared while areas you have not explored is covered in fog

Sighting the boss gate
Keep in mind the boss gate will have RED MISTS flying towards it. If you see the red mist, the boss gate is within 1-2 tiles of the mists. Once you have seen the boss gate, it's permanently marked on your minimap as a red diamond.

Indeed I think there's a lot of yellow paint players out there. I think the game is fine in its current state especially with the minimap, hope this will reach that 150k people!

The fact people still complain about struggling to find it, after getting a whole map with Fog of War or thinking the Circle the Map Method doesn't work is still hilarious to me. Glad there is a specific guide for people who do struggle and need some tips on this.

Also don't forget to mention they can also select the Map through the Pause Menu if they need time to check where to go. It feels obvious but some people I've seen on discussions missed it.
